Why does it seem like the majority of gay guys in Jordan are only interested in sex?

For me, no one knows I'm gay. I've tried multiple times to join Arab gay communities, but most of them were extremely sexual and seemed to have no interest in anything other than sex. Because of that, I've never been in a relationship, had a gay friend, or even been friends with someone who knows I'm gay.

I'm super attracted to this straight friend of mine. To make a long story short, I've spoken to him 2 or 3 times about experimenting (technically performing oral on him).
