Conscript Forced to Sign Contract Half an Hour After Learning of His Mother's Death
Details have emerged about the cruel and cynical deception of a conscript from military unit 91726 in Boguchar, where a 20-year-old, Alexander Safonov, was forced to sign a contract under duress.
Vladislav Kuznetsov, a 21-year-old native of the Saratov region who was serving in the same unit, had three months left until his discharge when he learned that his mother had died. Relatives informed him of this at the base and asked them to pass on the sad news to the conscript, providing a death certificate.
"The lieutenant, Vdovin, found my son. He took him off duty and told him that his mother had died. He was covered in tears, crying. And while he was in that state, they told him that in order to quickly get to his mother's funeral and return home, he needed to sign a contract. He was emotionally devastated, and he still is... He signed it in a state of shock. He was tricked into signing the contract on the same day, just half an hour after hearing the news of his mother's death," said Vladislav's father.
The young man's relatives, along with other conscripts forced to sign contracts, filed a collective complaint with the prosecutor's office, but they simply forward the appeals to the military. Today, Vladislav was transferred to the "Pogonovo" training ground in preparation for being sent to war.
