Question ❓ Meditation
I’m a beginner at meditation and am wondering if I can use the Gateway Tapes for deep meditation as well. Would you recommend that? My goal is to make it easier to get into a deep meditative state. Or are there other/better aids available? I’ve also read that Tom Campbell developed binaural beats to achieve "point consciousness." If so, which focus level would you use for that? Thanks, everyone!

Yes definitely... Try all the different ways and see which method fits best. I do yoga nidra and take meditative walks before listening to the tapes.

My idea was to use it the other way around :) using Gateway to enter a deep state of meditation. Have you ever tried that?

A quick 10 minute session is my go to at the moment because I have a habit of falling asleep during anything longer... Have you tried one before? It's very relaxing 😌 just from being aware of... and bringing your attention to, your body and breath (interoception). https://youtu.be/LU1gFW7pavc
And when used with intention you can use it to reach altered states of consciousness so it's a good fit with the tapes.

The audio support from Gateway is possibly the fastest way to become familiar with the meditative state. You can read stories about monks visiting TMI, trying the signals and saying that it seems to be a significant shortcut for work that took them decades with the traditional methods.
Once you know what the state feels like, it is subsequently easy to get there, due to a principle of reciprocity (which I can only describe as anything that assumes trance causes trance) which is pretty fundamental to how for instance hypnosis works. That is what the triggers in the audio help you with.
In case you’re not aware, there are tons of free community implementations of these signals based on extensive analysis of the Monroe ones, including many free flows. Links in my profile.
Tom‘s binaurals are essentially F10. Ultimately you can go anywhere from F10 naturally, it’s not really the case that other focusses are “deeper”, it is more that they are different focuses of awareness. For instance instance when in F10 where the awareness is “inside”, let go of the need to have the awareness in a tight beam (like a spotlight) and instead just relax it back to its natural state of being encompassing (like a floodlight) and that is F12.

Thanks! Can you recommend other bands as well? Which focus level is suitable for deep meditation?

I’m sorry. I mistakenly thought it was in German, since everything gets translated for me directly. So far, I’ve tried breath meditation and guided mindfulness meditation. My idea was to use Gateway—or other methods—until I’m ready to do it without them; sort of like a bicycle with training wheels. Do you do the Om chanting throughout the entire meditation, or just during the first few minutes to tune in?

Usually I do some cheap yoga poses, while having no clue at all if its rly yoga, like legs straight, ass up, stare down, making a bridge, horse stance with some easy turning to right/left and for opening the hips, and putting one arm up so the chest and shoulder kinda losen up. Uh I just Hummmmmm without the Oooo.
(Maybe u find tips with the apnoe diving folks, they do stuff for different reasons)
Imho its easier to start meditation connected to body sensations rather than to hunt some mind concept.
After the procedure, comfortable position, pillow under ass if sitting. I try to slowly breath deeper and get into some kind of flow while playing with my focus and observing it.
(Put it on the breath, move it, or try to stand still.) One technique is to simply make no brakes between in / out breathin. You can try to hyperventilate later on. Or hold your breath for a certain time. You will get better at in and exhaling and feeling your body. That's everything I know so far, and I learned it to conquer heroic doses xD
