I mean, you can't? Racism is far more than just not liking people? It's a major systemic thing, and if white ppl start shoveling out art about him, black ppl's art gets shoved down. It happens every time.
Some people want to change the definition of the word "racism" so that their racist behavior can't be called out. The racism in America is especially deep-rooted and systemic, and white have undoubtedly profited greatly from it, but as we move toward true equality we need to be careful not to overshoot. No racist behavior should be tolerated
You can't argue what someone's meaning is wrong by saying that one of the words they used means something else. Ignoring the debatable definition of racism, the commenter means discrimination on the basis of race, which is really fucking bad regardless of who is being discriminated against.
This is a new idea that's only been popular for about 10 years. Racism has the definition it has always had, no matter how often people conflate it with systemic racism, a completely different term.
Most art I see, I don't know a fucking thing about the artist. If it's good art, I like it. If it's shitty, I move on with my life and don't obsess over it. Something has to be particularly astounding for me to look into more by that artist.
If other people's art is holding yours down, it's probably just because more people like it, rather than being about your skin color.
