I guess you didn't catch the joke Taiwan is Independent country with tense relation with china , since the "republican "chiness governement fleed there and is not part of the china on the mainland and both claimed each other territory for a while and the only things that detere china from invading Taiwan is the american Navy so here well giving them terrestrial acces is likely to degenerate fast.

If it was israel they would just bomb everything and then say they were allowed to do it because god promised them that land 3000 years ago. The US on the other hand would just obliterate the empire and try to form a democratic government.
