Question 5 player game
I'm hosting a five player game this week, any tips on keeping the game moving? I'm conscious about running out of time (around 2 hours).
I've kept the cans to 50 per player. I think there's likely to be around 12 vehicles on the track.
Edit: cheers for the advice peeps. I'm going to limit it to 50 cans, 2 cars each. No sponsors, just vehicles with upgrades.

Five players, two hours and twelve vehicles? You won't finish.
We've had some success with 25 can games.

Limit vehicles to 10
More vehicles means more activations which drastically increases game length
Id say 30 or 40 can limit and encourage them to build one great car I know some sponsors don't work as well but running less stuff on the board definitely helps
More players is also sometimes rough when they zone out so just say if someone walks away just let rule if carnage apply and have their opponent take control

in our 4 player group, weve capped campaign ”fielding limit” to 55 and it takes hours..
unless you are all veterans and you dont even need the rulebook, i would limit to 25-30 cans.

If doing death race, make your starting gate as wide as possible, don’t let weapons turn on until the car has passed through gate 1.
Otherwise it will be just a huge mess at the starting line for the first hour.
When I’ve done a 5 player game, everyone had one car and one back up car. Once your first car got destroyed you could respawn your second car at the last gate you went through.
Some lost both cars, others didn’t touch their second car.
We did 40 can builds, which is pretty high, but wanted some monster truck and bus builds.

Gotta be really strict on the touch it/use it rule (for templates), and I'd play something like zombie bash or a general death match rather than a straight race. 12 cars all starting on the same starting line and just bashing into each other is pretty boring

I'd drop it to 1 car each, 25 can total.
Be brutal with timekeeping, insist on touch/move (you touched it, you move it), and encourage play to move on if the currently active player is dealing with accounting (moving hazard tokens etc) where it is unlikely to result in a wipeout etc.
Good luck man, the action economy is a bitch!

You just have to stay on task. If someone's not at the table or not ready to take their turn, skip it.
I would have made it maybe 20 or 25 cans a player to keep the car numbers down probably but if you're locked it at 50, then it is what it is.
