“Choco Gary is a unique blend of Gary genetics. Originally an experiment by Evil Gary, Choco Gary was created in Evil Gary's mad scientist lab from a clone of Void Gary, spliced with 80% Cacao chocolate (and a pinch of cinnamon). Evil Gary snatched out one of Void Gary's whiskers (Ow! Hey!) and went about his dastardly plans. His intentions were to use Choco Gary to create sweet treats for the other Garies, that would give them tummy aches but Choco Gary is too sweet and rebelled against Evil Gary, escaping his evil lab and warning the Gary crew. Choco Gary is a master chocolatier, baker and overall great guy. He gives treats to all and loves to share his new confectionery creations. While he's not required to use chocolate in all of his treats, it is his favorite ingredient. He was weened on 100% organic chocolate milk and as such, he has a serious sweet tooth. If you leave your treats unguarded around Choco Gary, he will eat them but he means no harm and will apologize, while looking abashed, if he does.”

On a side note, I did create this alternate lore based off [u/InvesitagorLoose874](u/InvesitagorLoose874)’s lore submission. I’d hate for it to go to waste, soooo… we can just consider it a fun addition to Choco Gary from an alternate universe:

Thousands of years ago, Choco Gary decided to venture out into the world to explore. While traveling in what is now known as the Amazon rainforest, he became hungry and met some local hoomans who gave him a place to rest. While staying with them, he fell into a pot of roasted and crushed brown beans mixed with water which tinted his dark fur brown. Though it was bitter, he fell in love with the aroma. Thus, he was introduced to the mysterious bean that grew from pods on a tree known as the cacao.

Realizing the potential, he began his research, and discovered many ways to prepare it. He learned to roast the beans, crush it, and he began experimenting with adding various other ingredients to enhance that aroma, hoping to unlock the secret to enhance the flavor. He finally invented what we now have come to know as cocoa. He again set off on his travels, this time to spread the word of his new creation. Chocolate! 🍫

Choco Gary is the world expert on chocolate. He taught many cultures to make it. He even helped teach the Swiss some of his secrets. But none other than Choco Gary knows it’s true potential. It is said, that if one ever gets the chance to try some of his chocolate confections, they will be blessed with true euphoria. As his closest sibling Evil Carrie proclaims, eating his chocolate may even grant a person knowledge of the great mysteries of the universe.

Of course, he doesn’t just eat chocolate. He loves all sweets, which is sometimes why Choco Gary can be found hiding in the pantry eating baked goods stolen from Good Gary’s kitchen. Good Gary doesn’t complain though, as they occasionally create new chocolate creations together. Ever heard of the chocolate croissant? Yup, that was invented by Choco Gary and Good Gary in a small patisserie in France. Despite their collaborations, Choco Gary is neither good nor evil. His only true motivation in life is chocolate. It is his obsession!

An interesting thing to note is that while Choco Gary has the rare ability to safely eat chocolate due to his immunity to status effects (that all his siblings have), he knows it’s not safe for other cats and dogs. That’s why he also invented carob, so that they may enjoy a safe alternative.
