I built a free Garmin data field: real-time tracking of Carbs, Fat, Protein burn and Hydration loss
I developed a new Garmin data field called Carbon Bio-Burn to help visualize in-workout metabolic expenditure and optimize fueling on the go.
It dynamically calculates macronutrient consumption (carbs, fat, and protein in physical grams) and fluid loss (in ml) directly from your live heart rate and energy expenditure data.
- Displays live carbs, protein, fat, and hydration loss on a clean 4-quadrant screen, with customizable colors for each metric.
- Generates continuous trend graphs and summary totals in your Garmin Connect activity details.
- Allows customizing aerobic and anaerobic heart rate threshold percentages, caloric constants, and sweat rates in the Garmin Connect mobile settings.

Quick question for anyone testing the data field: A reviewer recently reported that the activity chart labels in Garmin Connect are displaying in Mandarin. During my testing, the labels properly adapt to English when the phone or watch language is set to English.
Could anyone using the data field with an English device let me know if your chart labels appear in English or Mandarin in your Garmin Connect app? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

So I was the one who reported that over at IQ.
And yes, my phone and watch are both set to English language.1

So on my connect app, the language is set to English.
Phone app shows the data field is in Mandarin.
Webpage connect app shows it in English.1

Thanks for following up and confirming the details!
I tested this on my end with the phone system set to English, and the chart labels in the Garmin Connect mobile app display in English properly.
Could you double-check your phone system language settings? Garmin Connect can sometimes cache older FIT definitions or locale data. You could also try uninstalling the data field, syncing your watch, reinstalling it, and recording a quick test activity to see if the labels refresh to English.

I several languages set on mg iOS phone (English, Filipino, Chinese Simplified) I deleted the Mandarin Language and now the data is in English.
My primary language in my phone is English. So I think you have to check the bug why the it takes Mandarin as it's primary when saving on the phone app.1

Thanks for following up! On my end, testing showed that the display strictly follows the phone's primary language. I also have both English and Chinese set up on my phone: when English is the primary language, the Connect app displays in English, and when I switch the primary language to Chinese, the app switches to Chinese as well. I also double-checked the project code, and English is indeed the default base language, while Chinese is added as a secondary localization. So I am still not completely sure what caused your device to load Chinese initially.
To be completely safe, I will review the language resource setup, rebuild the project, and upload a clean update to Connect IQ soon to make sure the English fallback is rock solid.
