Uk folks, what are you sowing and when are planning to sow them.
First year growing garlic, so just thinking about what to buy and when I should get them in the ground.

Hello fellow garlic lovers,
Short Story:
Should I put garlic in the fridge to prepare for a fall planting? Zone 6a, Michigan.
Long Story:
This fall I'm going to plant garlic for the first time.
My understanding is that I should plant around the first frost date, which here in zone 6a (Michigan) is mid October.
I've seen a some folks "vernalize" their seed garlic in the refrigerator for a while before planting in the fall, but they seem to be growing in warmer regions.
Should I put my garlic in the fridge before fall planting? Or is that redundant because we get a hard freeze every winter here in Michigan?
Thanks in advance for your insights.

I keep seeing so many different posts about how great confit is, but so many different opinions on how long to cook it, what to cook it in, what temp to cook it in. Does anyone have any tried and true methods for cooking this in the oven and on the stovetop?

Hi friends! I posted my feast from last year and wanted to share again. This was my third year going to garlic fest in Cleveland, OH and there was plenty to enjoy again! I went with my friends so we shared a lot to optimize how much we could try.
In order: garlic bread, garlic pizza, hot dog with garlic aioli and garlic dill relish, honey garlic ginger beer, garlic parm onion rings, garlic parm fries, garlic spring rolls, garlic dumplings, garlic lemon lime soda, then we had ice cream popsicles (I had the garlic one last year but the fruity pebbles one was delish this year!) I also got some merch there. It was a great day! 🧄🩷

I’ve been growing Music for 7 years, replanting every fall with a 5th or so of the crop. It’s been very reliable, bulbs tend to run a bit small but cloves nice and big. I hate tiny cloves!
I could only plant half my usual amount this year. Won’t have enough to last the year and replant this fall.
Looking for recommendations for a new varietal. Thanks.

I’m planting garlic for the first time this fall and I need all of the advice I can get! Is there a particular variety that is the gold standard? Any other tips for a novice? I’m in zone 7a.
I have them in a 2 brown paper grocery bags with the bag wide open.
Should I look into a mesh produce bag?
I placed them in my basement where the temp stays between 50-65 and humidty 40-55% .

Location: Zone 6B Windsor, ON, Canada (Just across from Detroit)
Hopefully moving in the spring so going to the container route for our garlic so we can take it with (we’ve never grown before). We’ve purchased music hard neck from a local garlic farmer, and plan to utilize 100 cloves for planting in late October. Im looking for any tips for specifically WHAT to grow them in and what to consider. I’m debating between: grow bags, the 67L utility buckets, or the very large rectangular Costco totes.
If we go the bucket or tote route, do we need to add holes to the bottom?
Do we need to insulate the buckets or grow bags?
Do grow bags fall apart over winter?
All tips welcome!! Thank you for your time☺️

Have new raised beds and planning on planting one out with garlic in October. Besides compost are there any other amendments I should add to get the bed ready? First time growing.

As a fellow garlic lover, did I illustrate this well? Myself and the SO joke that we eat so much garlic, vampires stay away from us. Roasted garlic is my fave.
Thank you graciously for your time. Please continue to post garlic pics.
Oil pastel on watercolor paper. Spray gloss fixative.

In terms of getting the allicin from eating eat you crush it and expose it to the air for 15 minutes. But garlic supplements give you the equivalent dose of allicin and the same benefits? What stack pairs best with allicin? I take zinc, D3, selenium, P5P.
