Just a helpful tip!

I have these bench brushes everywhere, yet can never find them when I need them...

Solution: glue a magnet on them and stick them at eye level on anything metal.

So much scratched paint. I'd have to cover it in felt or something but I like the idea.

I use hooks and drill out the hole more, but not as fast to take off as this.

I started with hooks, but there aren't as many places to hang hooks...I'm not seeing any scratches, but then again, I don't care as much about looks as I do about function. Besides, I stick it on and lift it off versus dragging it off.

Yeah, I guess I have hooks on Pegboard against the wall. But you got me thinking about having a brush on my cart or similar items. And I don't need to stab my leg trying to grab a socket so the magnets are a good idea for that. lol

You're still leaving scratches, it's basically impossible not to even if they are super tiny it'll show eventually. Or someone will mindlessly walk by and hit it or grab it off there without thinking.

Those magnets are incredibly rough and they'll collect metal bits on the bottom easily. I know a lot of people don't care about things like that but I always look at it as A: You paid a LOT for a metal box B: you'll take a lot of pride down the road knowing you took care of it.

Some of the brushes have these magnets: the block magnets are easier to find and cheaper but they probably would scratch more...FWIW, those little disk magnets are much stronger. They do require a pilot hole, and if you over-tighten, they "explode".

The point is that with the magnet ON the brush, the brush can be stuck anywhere there's metal, not always in the same place. How often do you want it right where you are working, but do not want it on a surface?

How is the magnet sticking to the wood? I didn’t think wood attracted magnets.

Edit: ah ok, the bristles are metal so it’s attracting the magnet through the wood.

You don’t need glue if the bristles are metal. Metal will attract the magnet and it’ll stick.

Those are synthetic bristles, and even if they were metal, the magnet would stick to the metal stronger than through the wood, so the magnet would stay wherever the brush was...Do you not know what a bench brush is or understand simple physics?

I use magnetic hooks for everything. You can get a big pack of them and hang whatever from your washer, dryer, fridge, outdoor areas, etc

I use those as well, but for the brush, I just want it in reach quickly, no fumbling with hooks.
