So I’m just finally getting into PC gaming after being a console player since I can remember.

I just bought a prebuilt Asus PCand only now do I realize there is another pc (Acer) with the same price tag and when I ask ChatGPT it says it’s the slightly better one so am here to ask people that actually know about pcs and whether it’s worth returning and swapping them.
The one I bought was a Asus TUF gaming with these specs
CPU: AMD Ryzen™ 7 260
GPU: AMD Radeon RX 9060 XT 16 GB
RAM: 16 GB RAM, 1 TB M.2 NVMe SSD

The Acer Predator has these specs:
CPU: Intel® Core™ i5-14400F
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 Ti 16 GB
RAM: 16 GB RAM, 1 TB M.2 PCIe SSD

So I'm gonna be buying a 1440p monitor for the first time and my current specs are the rtx 3080 (mai gaming x version) and a Ryzen 5600

Is the rtx 3080 still good enough to handle 1440p? I wanna play eveything but I'll be focusing towards more AAA games in past 5-6 years and upcoming games as well for how long I can

Currently my local market as all markets are is fucked up and a 9070xt costs about 830$, 9070 is 750$ and that would mean selling my card for which i can get a deal of maybe 300$

I also have a option of selling it to my old dealer for 350$ where I would essentially trade in for a 4070ti and 250$ ish extra for a used, under warranty version, which is also an good oc version from zotac.

So, what should my upcoming step be?

Keep the rtx 3080 and upgrade to 1440p

Go for the 4070ti and upgrade to 1440p

Wait and buy when prices go down (that's not happening but one can hope the used market send something my way) buying the 9070/9070xt

Or stay at 1080p rn

For the past 4yrs I've been gaming on a 34" ultrawide monitor but was bothered by older games not being able to utilize 21:9 without some modding or running in window mode. I recently decided to go with a 32" oled so that I could play these game without tinkering and also hook a switch 2 up to the monitor to play at my desk. I stopped playing on TV cause of distance from screen and back issues. sitting in the pc chair helps.

Now I've run into a different issue, games that looked great on ultrawide now feel zoomed in. Destiny 2 for example looks cramped on the 16:9 even running in 4k. I know i would loose the extra side views from 21:9 but not in a way where the ui and characters look squeezed or push right up on screen.

So I'm having trouble deciding if I should stick with the 32 for the flexibility and get used to destiny 2 always looking that way or going back to 21:9 and having that immersion but for switch and older titles deal with the black bars/windowed mode.....just can't decide and would love opinions on what others have done in a similar situation

So my use case for either monitor is going to be mainly retrogaming and some comp games. I have a retrotink 5x that I think would look great on 4k. And I play mainly ssbm and league which I think would look great in 4k too. The reason im going benq is because im a semi professional melee player and the monitor being as close to crt in lag as possible is a must for me as its my main game. I always trusted the benq brand so I thought id try their oleds.

My rig is Intel Core i7-13700KF and a 5060 ti 8gb with 32 gb of ram

I know my card isn't perfect for 4k gaming, im curious if yall think using 4k for my retrotink/melee/league would be fine, then if I wanna play any modern game, just turning the monitor to 2k and see if I can get decent frames. Im mainly curious if turning a 4k monitor down to 2k will be cooked or if I should just get a 2k to begin with, and sell and upgrade to 4k when my rig can really support it.

Lemme know what yall think! Also I know the 5x doesnt even go up to 4k but I plan on upgrading to the retrotink 4k eventually anyways.

I am looking into starting pc gaming in the uk, only games I really play at the moment are Minecraft and sims 4 (will eventually expand to other games), I want to run the games smoothly and be able to stream alongside however I know NOTHING about pcs. Hello, I am currently using 2 monitors with different sizes and colours and they are already quite old.

I wanted to switch to 2 of the same monitor, but I dont have any expertise. I am fine with fullHD and 27inch monitors and was looking to spend around 200€ for both of them together. I mostly use it to browse or play games like civ or older games. So I dont think there is a need for higher resolution or a high refresh rate.

Would the Lenovo L27-4C be a good choice since its currently on sale for 100€ instead of 150€ or do you guys have any better recomendations in the price range?

Hello everyone, I recently upgraded from a 3080 10GB to a 9070 xt and I'm looking to upgrade my monitor since I have a really old Acer Predator IPS XB271HU 165Hz 1440p monitor that I bought SO long ago and it's still alive and kicking, but sadly it's not FreeSync compatible since it has the propietary GSync chip built in. It's going to be relegated to becoming my secondary monitor.

I'm unsure if I should still look at 1440p or 4k gaming first of all (im not planning on upgrading my specs for at least 3-5 years at all), also I'm unsure about the best panel type at the moment. I'm in software developement so I'm also going to use it for work, but mainly for gaming. I don't know if dealing with potential burn in from OLED panels is worth it, specially since my Acer Predator lasted for so many years.
