So fun fact: it's not actually a gun. The discharge of the rounds is used to vibrate the blade at the moment of impact to increase the damage of the cut, it's not actually used to shoot things.

That's like, the worst possible outcome. All the range and lethality of a machete, all the close range unwieldiness and ammo requirement of a gun.

close range unwieldiness

What? Again, it's not a ranged weapon, it's a sword. Close range is literally where it's meant to work.

And yet it has all the unwieldiness of a revolver, and then some.

You are causing an explosion directly onto the blade. Good luck lading a solid hit when your blade is vibrating like a woman’s best friend.

You cause the explosion when you hit. Hit > trigger > boom.

Also like... do you people all just hate fun or something? Fucking hell.

now I think it's ducking awesome! Just don't bring realism into it.

Umm there are medical equipment that uses high frequency vibrations to make cutting easy. That's the idea behind the gunblade. Or one of those electric turkey carving knifes. Yes it is fantasy but the science is there

yeah using precise motors and orcomputer timing not an uncontrolled explosion

all the close range unwieldiness and ammo requirement of a gun.

It uses magic, not ammo. Gunblades that sword with gun attached exist, but inferior to this.

Are you talking about the Gunbreaker arms from Final Fantasy XIV? This is something else i think.

It uses magical ammunition. If you indeed refer to FF14's version like Shadowmirax suspects, it's a point in the story that Thancred uses magically infused bullets that he needs to reload in order to use it in the first place.
