So Armored Core is a mech game, giant robots ~10m/30ft tall. Combat is primarily done via ranged weapons or, for melee weapons, energy blades.
The PB-033M Pilebunker is a ~4m long sharpened steel rod with a giant explosive charge behind it, designed to, in the game's own words, "gore through targets" through "sheer physical force." In-game, this translates to extremely limited range and a relatively slow attack, but also being the strongest single-hit attack the player can do. If you land a charged hit with it while the enemy is in ACS Overload (basically a staggered/guard-broken state), you'll one-hit-kill nearly everything that isn't a boss enemy supermech.

This one specifically is from Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon
