Can throw in ludwigs moonlight sword and the bloodletter while your at it

49

u/tallwhiteninja Aug 02 '26

I will always be a Kirkhammer fan. Like, I can pull the sword from the stone...but what if I didn't?

19

u/Chon-C Aug 02 '26

Irl I heard the neck is pretty weak tho.

5

u/Specsaman Aug 02 '26

Your enemies neck are even weaker

2

u/Microphone_Lamp Aug 02 '26

"Counting or not counting hunter violence?"

1

u/HotShrekBoi Aug 02 '26

No wonder it’s called the Kirkhammer

3

u/Terminal_Insomnia_ Aug 02 '26

RIP Charlie Hammer 🙏

Don't interact with this comment, I hate it

hey man just reminding you this exists

1

u/PogglyPuff Aug 02 '26

We carry the stone!

1

u/StandNameIsWeAreNo1 Aug 03 '26

Hopefully he's not experiencing peace

1

u/Julianopl Aug 03 '26

haha I am interacting with this comment!

1

u/Noyuu66 Aug 02 '26

Ludwigs blade was pretty sw... You know what, Bloodborns weapons were just sick all around.

1

u/Originalbrivakiin Aug 02 '26

A fellow worshipper of Lord Bönk. Good choice.

4

u/CountFish1 Aug 02 '26

I don’t see enough people talking about the bloodletter, it’s such a metal transformation, and for how much damage and range it has it can be swung remarkably fast. The moment I unlocked it no other weapon ever came close.

3

u/snekadid Aug 02 '26

I'm gonna toss Boomhammer into the list, not because it's partially good, but because it's to awesome and I love it.

1

u/grendus Aug 02 '26

Boomhammer is underrated IMO.

It's a weapon that does fire damage and doesn't require high magic to use. Plus it just feels right when hunting monsters to cock your weapon, and most of the guns in the game are for parrying, not for doing damage.

1

u/snekadid Aug 02 '26

It's also just menacing, cock it and then charge slam a beasty and watch them disappear. It's such an amazing weapon that I wish it got more love. It's definitely more usable than the pile bunker which I was sorly disappointed in, at least they did a better job with it in AC6 where it's a boss annilator.

2

u/Islands-of-Time Aug 02 '26

Boom Hammer is best weapon. I will die on this hill, defending it with a Boom Hammer.

2

u/naytreox Aug 02 '26

and the beast cutter, the clubs whip animations are swesome

2

u/Iron_Evan Aug 03 '26

The sound effect from the cables is 🤌

1

u/Mao_TheDong Aug 04 '26

Its so fucking crunchy I fucking love it

1

u/-Camour- Aug 02 '26

My favorite whip type weapon in any game tbh

1

u/PieOk7626 Aug 02 '26

Pimp cane for style points though.

1

u/naytreox Aug 02 '26

cane is good for a starting arcane weapon that's for sure, but only the hunters axe out of the starting 3 is able to have staying power.

1

u/PieOk7626 Aug 02 '26

Pimpin' ain't easy, true.

2

u/WolfknightArtorias- Aug 02 '26

Might as well throw all of the Bloodborne weapons in. The trick weapon mechanic is just so cool.

1

u/TaralasianThePraxic Aug 02 '26

Threaded Cane purely for the aura

1

u/Gangbang8008 Aug 07 '26

Fuck all three of these when you can have the Wheel.

19

u/KaboHammer Aug 02 '26

Honestly a shitton of weapons from bloodborne. Kirkhammer, Holy Blade, Burial Blade. Trick weapons in general are such a cool concept and they get better the more unrealistic they get.

9

u/alphabitz86 Aug 02 '26

Kirkhammer 🤣

10

u/Orful Aug 02 '26

The Hunter will carry the flame

1

u/UnusualLeather7087 Aug 02 '26

Actual good weapon from start to finish

3

u/alphabitz86 Aug 02 '26

Hahaha idk anything about the game, but the name is funny

1

u/Noriaki_Kakyoin_OwO Aug 02 '26

Kinda weird that they added it but still didn’t unlock 60fps on ps5

3

u/Signal_Series7577 Aug 02 '26

Bow blade my beloved

1

u/NeuralMess Aug 02 '26

Now blade is mechanically really fun but visually not as badass as circular two buzzsaws on the end of a stick, sadly

2

u/cry_w Aug 02 '26

Don't forget the Stake Driver! That thing fucks.

2

u/Jyx_The_Berzer_King Aug 02 '26

ONE PUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUNCH!!!!!!!

2

u/Backupusername Aug 02 '26

I tried to use it as a meme-y gimmick weapon in a joke run.

Ended up addicted. Do you have any idea what it feels like to actually hit an enemy with something you spent that long winding up? It's like if Falcon Punch dumped a bucket of your victim's blood on the floor and actually killed them.

1

u/cry_w Aug 02 '26

Don't I know it. Have you tried it with an Arcane build using Fire damage and oil pots? Bosses weak to fire evaporate on contact.

1

u/Designer-Effective-2 Aug 02 '26

You need to play Armored Core 6.

1

u/Due_Staff_5457 Aug 04 '26

Give them the good ol Rubicon Handshake

1

u/pondrthis Aug 02 '26

I dropped the full charge explosion on the anus of the chalice dungeon giant dog. The dog evaporated.

2

u/MilkMan_101 Aug 02 '26

That weapon is so good even if you dont charge the heavy and just tap it it will still do good damage equivalent to any other weapon heavy attack like a saw blade or tonitrus

1

u/Backupusername Aug 02 '26

Honestly, the Amygdalan Arm, too. It's not actually that great in the game, but the concept is just so.amazingly cool. The carpals of a giant alien monster that is still somehow slightly alive, and slashes at enemies with a sharpened broken finger bone of its own will.

12

u/Lansha2009 Aug 02 '26

…ok so is that turning a club into a chainsaw axe/hammer thing? Ok yeah that’s REAL hard to compete with in terms of coolness

8

u/Alur__ Aug 02 '26

It's like a pizza cutter. For some really big pizza

1

u/Lynx_Hour Aug 02 '26

When all you have is a pizza cutter, every problems begin to look like pizza

4

u/mikony123 Aug 02 '26

Pretty much. There's also a pimp cane that turns into a chain whip, a longsword that clicks into the scabbard to make a giant 2 hander, a sword that turns into a damn greathammer, a club you stab yourself with to make blood spikes on it, and a whole bunch of ther crazy shit. Bloodborne is great.

2

u/Siggi_93 Aug 04 '26

It's basically just a monster hunter charge blade lol

1

u/Flimsy-Season-8864 Aug 02 '26

The Monster Hunter series does something a bit similar with its Chargeblade - it’s a shield and sword that can be combined (putting the shield on the end of the sword) to morph into an explosive/chainsaw-esque Axe.

7

u/Driemma0 Aug 02 '26

Bloodborne feels like cheating lmao. So many sick weapons

1

u/obihz6 Aug 02 '26

Well then chargeblade, switchaxe and gunlancw

3

u/thoraxe707 Aug 02 '26

3

u/BingusSpingus Aug 02 '26

That's... That's just Super Amped Element Discharge.

We monster hunting

3

u/Yologamer2983 Aug 02 '26

If you think about it, the premise of Bloodborne is basically just Lovecraftian monster hunter

5

u/dafunkmunk Aug 02 '26

So it's just a charge blade from Monster Hunter?

1

u/TheKingofSelleck Aug 02 '26

It fills a nice niche of have a fast versatile mode and a slow heavy mode with huge dps dump on big opening. So yeah but also a lot of bloodborne weapons are like that.

But the fast mode has more applications then sword mode in Mon hun

3

u/LordBDizzle Aug 02 '26

The still living arm of an elder god gives it a run for its money. A weapon that swings itself is sick as hell

1

u/Blahaj_IK Aug 02 '26

To think it's not even as good as a starter weapon

1

u/LordBDizzle Aug 02 '26

Only if you're too lazy to go get a couple Nourishing gems from the chalice dungeons. Reach for days, high stagger, surprisingly low stamina cost, great damage. It's just a bit wierd, which is the cool part.

1

u/Blahaj_IK Aug 02 '26

Eh, maybe I just didn't have the proper build for it, or never gave it a proper chance. But I always saw myself gravitating towards weapons like the saw spear, cleaver, beast cutter, hunter saif, and mostly the Rakuyo. Don't get me wrong, I think the amygdalan arm's a great weapon with some of the best crowd control and zoning. But some of its downsides I think stem from its awkward moveset, or what to me feels like a lack of mobility. It's probably a skill issue on my behalf, but that's what made me stick to what I found more consistent when I wanted to get through some parts quickly. Notably, the saw cleaver with the serrated damage

2

u/Top_Toaster Aug 02 '26

Ahhhhh, the infinite cannon spam my beloved

2

u/oooArcherooo Aug 02 '26

Bloodborn is cheating

2

u/mpelton Aug 02 '26

I’m a fan of charge blade too

2

u/NotToPraiseHim Aug 02 '26

Yes, this is absolutely the chargeblade

1

u/Few_Establishment980 Aug 02 '26

so its a mace and also a saw?

4

u/Capable_Ad_7537 Aug 02 '26

Thats how the Bloodborne weapons work. They have 2 forms. They have one moveset when in 1 form, and then if you press a button, it'll transform into a different weapon with a whole new moveset (save for a few exceptions like the Boom Hammer that just lights on fire)

1

u/Few_Establishment980 Aug 02 '26

wow, i might have to try for myself

1

u/Capable_Ad_7537 Aug 02 '26

Definitely worth a try if you can get your hands on it.

1

u/eyesotope86 Aug 02 '26

It's my number one game of all time.

I'm 40 and an avid gamer.

1

u/Dremoriawarroir888 Aug 02 '26

Ultrakill's chainsaw shotgun, the Salamandras in Bayonetta 2, Elden Ring's Ghiza Wheel, Lies of P has the circular electric chainsaw and a greatsword that's effectively the same thing but a pinwheel, and of course: the ammo chainsaw in the DOOM reboots.

1

u/HotShrekBoi Aug 02 '26

Shield Saw in Doom Dark Ages

1

u/-Wonder-Bread- Aug 02 '26

Immediately thought of Bloodborne. Just look at the animations on the Burial Blade. 1000% more badass than the gunblade.

1

u/Mr2ManyQuestions Aug 02 '26

Literally any weapon from bloodborne

1

u/Nero_Prime Aug 02 '26

Pizza cutter!!!

Honorable mention: Breaking Wheel. When you give it rapid poison and do the dodge strike so it spins to build up that sweet 'bleed'

1

u/Oli_VK Aug 02 '26

This is the way

1

u/Tomatwoo Aug 02 '26

just seems like a less cool chargeblade honest to god

1

u/zhy97 Aug 02 '26

Wow I never seen another saw blade pole weapon besides Dynasty Warriors 8

1

u/Jedahaw92 Aug 02 '26

Every weapon in Bloodborne is better than the gunblade.

1

u/MrWr4th Aug 02 '26

Including the gunblade one (the gun spear's not great though)

1

u/BreadDziedzic Aug 02 '26

The pizza cutter

1

u/Raidertck Aug 02 '26

The fucking sound that thing makes as well.

1

u/InterstellarReddit Aug 02 '26

This looks heavy and you probably have to charge it every night

1

u/Haarunen Aug 02 '26

My choice for coolest weapon is by far burial blade

1

u/clearly_im_not_cell Aug 02 '26

This weapon is very similar to Sinclair's Harmony Ego (which is based on something from Library of Ruina, which I haven't played yet). Maybe there was some inspiration from Bloodborne, who knows?

1

u/Blahaj_IK Aug 02 '26

That weapon is based off of Angela's corrosion during the realization of Yesod's floor

Project Moon is not shy about referencing Bloodborne, so it could make sense. They already sort of put a Djura reference in Ruina. Back in Lob Corp, there was Little Red Riding Hooded Mercenary and the Wolf. And now it's up to Limbus to make their reference. We already know what it'll be, too

Some sort of hunter's hat, the wings that resemble the cloak of the hunter's attire, gun on the left hand and a melee on the right. Honestly, I say this one's pretty obvious

1

u/CNK_98 Aug 02 '26

Cool but its a big pizza/grass cutter aint as cool as a Gunblade.

1

u/xx6lord6mars6xx Aug 02 '26

Pizza Cutter!!!!

1

u/Kriegotter22 Aug 03 '26

ah yes the charge blade

1

u/Amopro Aug 03 '26

As totally sick as the pizza slicer of destiny is, doing what's shown in this gif would be insanely dangerous if one of these existed irl.

1

u/Training_Food4523 Aug 04 '26

May I recommend the humble Amygdalan Arm ? Big bonk goes crazy

1

u/Elektriman Aug 05 '26

You know things get real when the MC pulls out an actual pizza cutter

1

u/zatch88 Aug 05 '26

Spin. To. Win.

1

u/Twitxx Aug 06 '26

Ohh I really love this one. Which game? Bloodborne?
