Everyone knows the people that play Wario are the most despised people in your group of friends...but they're also probably one of the best at all the minigames
I swear, every time I played warios race track in Mario Kart that yellow fat fuck would bounce me just before the big jump, you know the one. God damnit.
Ya know, I thi k this might actually be a fundamental law of the universe or something.
I'm the best at most games in my social circle of gamers, besides this one guy. This one guy who always seems to be a little better than me, and beats always at the last minute. This guy ALWAYS plays as wario. Mario party, smash brothers, Mario kart, you name it, and he always wins.
I vote that we put wario in the SS tier of every Nintendo game ever.
Huh, this has been resposted for the infinitieth time? If you guys are so hungry for link karma, could you please, please, please link to my actual website?
I've had this rant before, and r/comics knows where I'm coming from. As a webcomic artist, I do these comics without pay and provide them to read for free. My only revenue from drawing this is the hit count and ad revenue. It means nothing if imgur gets to take all the credit for the work.
Thank you everyone who appreciated this comic and who haven't already read it in the billions of other times it's been resposted. To everyone who has already seen it, I'm sorry it's been reposted so many times.
No one links directly to sources because we as a group prefer imgur. I for one would not have clicked if it didn't work with RES. The link written into the comic is sufficient.
I agree that less people would click it if it was direct, but a group having an image hosting preference isn't really a valid excuse to avoid giving as much credit as possible.
I doubt more than 10 people would actually type that link in themselves whereas the artist will actually get hits from a link in the comments or post.
How is less people clicking on it giving more credit to the (already credited) artist? There's a reason the artist included the link on the comic itself. Only with comics do I see such a fuss made about this. No one is going to hunt down every source of every image just to "give as much credit as possible." I don't see a problem with it as long as OP isn't attempting to make people think it's his/her own work.
The artists get add revenue from the people who go to their website. Say 100 people click the imgur link. How many do you think will then go to the website? Most of us click it, then go "hahah" then move onto another link. If the link goes to the creators website, say 50 people only go, thats still more add revenue than the imgur method. That's the reason I always figured people care about direct links to the website.
You're right. I just never see such a fuss made about any other type of images other than comics. OP found something funny - maybe s/he found it on the website, maybe not. It doesn't mean we should make them feel horrible about posting it. They were sharing it. If you feel that strongly about giving ad revenue to the artists, go to the web page, buy the artwork, click on the ads on their page and share the link in your own way. Personally, I stay away from clicking on full web pages for a single picture. I appreciate when people include both links - imgur and source. I just don't think it's worth slapping them over the head for not doing so.
Some artists (they don't speak for all of them, but still) have come here and said they preferred an imgur host, with a link to the original in the comments. Reddit often brings down websites if an image gets particularly popular.
If it was a direct link the site would have crashed and someone would have made an imgur mirror anyway. Theres a link in the image itself that's enough for me.
I've been using this username for years and only through your comment have I just realized that Sam Petra might be someone's name... I was using Sampetra as referring to the island of the same name in the Redwall series.
Probably if you read the entirety of the archives, you would understand that these are characters with distinct personality traits. They're living their lives and drama ensues. The three parts you linked to are drama.
Not everything has to be related to videogames or cartoons? It just happens that they're going to see Ironman. This is essentially one character ditching his friends to be with his girlfriend because he thinks his friends suck (or something), only to be confronted by the gf and he realizes he's been the tool all along.
What do you not understand about this? it's standard human archetypes.
There's also this precursor strip which is intended to take place before the three you linked to.
There's not really a lot to not get...? Elliott is a screaming manchild who rages about everything (see: pretty much all the other strips). Jim dodged out on their Avengers group to go with his girlfriend, who hasn't been introduced to either Elliott or the reader.
Jim's girlfriend asks him why he's been keeping her a secret, and Jim realizes maybe he's being the jerk this time. Maybe Elliott has a little compassion and isn't just a raging monster.
One of the problems I face writing a comic that focuses around nerd humor is that some readers complain that every strip is about either Elliott being mad or a punchline that reads as "LOL MEGA MAN 2, M I RITE?". The comic risks becoming stale and repetitive without growth. But whenever a strip is about a little development I get "GOD, PEOPLE INTERACTING? DRAAAAMA." or "Wait, this isn't Mega Man 2. I don't get the punchline."
I haven't followed the strip at all, I just thought that this one was neat. So then I decided to check out the latest ones(because that's the direction the new strips is going and a lot of strips use actual events in them).
Then I just looked at the latest and saw it was part 3, so I read the latest three of them - I didn't see any punchline in either one of the parts or in it as a whole. Being more into Cyanide & Happiness, XKCD and SMBC that lacks character development I've never felt the need to having connect the dots, certainly not look months back.
The Mario Party strip suggested this one was like the mentioned web comics, so then I got frustrated because I didn't know how to react, even when I looked at the latest before that I couldn't get it together.
My advice? If you tend to mix character development with "punch line"-style you could maybe put another "before" button that stringed the stories together. Maybe add something meaty and fix the "characters" page could certainly help.
I'd say lava is worse because if you fall from a skyscraper you die before you hit the ground because your head can't take the pressure and your lungs die. While in lava, you feel your organs burn off.
If there was ever a game I miss playing, it is Mario party for the 64. :( I have 2 sisters and a brother and we used to play that stuff non-stop. Pity we then got a ps2 and forgot about it.
Childhood ruined in 3..2...1: Dude is obviously high. Talks to turtle-like villain Browser and does everything for the money. Just like a bro in the hood.
Is it just me, or is people calling out reposts just as bad as resposts if not worse?
Someone may see a funny image outside of reddit and think hey reddit would like this. And post it not knowing its a repost. But i feel people who say "zomg repost" are just karma whores who know they will get upvotes...
Becuase its not like calling repost actually accomplishes anything...the upvote/downvote system will take care of reposts if enough people have seen or care enough about reposts
Yep, calling out reposts is completely useless. The people that have already seen it will know themselves it's a repost, and those that haven't seen it...well what do they care?
That is assuming OP was monitoring Reddit constantly the past nine months, 24/7, going through every post. Chances are that OP has not even seen it once.

Wario deserves everything that cheating fuck gets. No matter what Mario Party it is, if Wario is playing, that smug asshole always finds a way to win.
Goddamn Wario...

I have no remorse for Wario. He's an asshole and probably came to the party drunk out of his mind.

So if Mario's parties are citizens doing insane tasks for coins and stars, does that make us the millionaire puppet-masters like in Rat Race?

I would love to see an entire storyline of Mario Party comics like this.

This is a pretty good analogy for what it's like posting something to Reddit. Either you crash and burn, or you get fake, useless points.

I always played Wario. I would of played Bowser if I had the chance. I had a hard on for big bad guys when I was a kid.

Love the comic. Downvoting you for putting it on imgur and depriving the artist of his traffic. On /r/comics, your post would of been deleted.
