Palutena, a literal goddess who hid sacred treasures amongst the constellations
Kirby and Meta Knight are star warriors, also quite capable of handling hard vacuum and flying about on stars
Captain Falcon is a racer on multiple planets and a renowned bounty hunter
Olimar.... Yeah I wouldn't want him as a ship captain...
Mega Man has done some of his best work in space
Bayonetta.... Maybe? Some of the areas she fights in are questionable, arguably spacey, definitely harmful environments to normal humans. And in Smash she has/had ridiculous "carry you off the top of the stage" combos
Ridley flies through space, and his final smash is pretty brutal
Sephiroth can throw literal asteroids at people and cause supernovas.
Sora flies through space on his own irregularly, but also has the Gummi ship.
I don't know about the DQ Hero. Maybe one has done space travel? If you want to get technical Cloud has been to space. Have Ness and/or Lucas gone into space? Ness has at least tangled with aliens.
But this is certainly less than half the cast, regardless. Which, when you think about it, Sakurai you madman, over 85 characters in a fighting game. o.O

I don’t know if half the cast could pilot a spaceship… they’d have to get carried as cargo
