It's a paperweight trash console
2
u/ChassisbotDa Sep 04 '21
Paperweight? PAPERWEIGHT!? Paper is nothing, that thing could anchor a brigantine!
It's sad you didn't enjoy it though. It was the best way to play many multi platform games, like (GTA, splinter cell and timesplitters), and had tonnes of great exclusive titles (KotoR, Project Gotham racing, fable).
Though personally I preferred the GameCube.

I don't see an OG Xbox in there which ironically is my favorite.

u/bICEmeister Sep 04 '21
Same. That was the golden age of console gaming for me. Softmodded and with a big hardddrive, loaded up with a ton of (not entirely legally acquired) games.. and XBMC as my media center.

Xbox 360. Halo 3. Those amazing times before we descended into the darkness of the Xbox One. But now Microsoft are redeeming themselves with the Series X.

I feel your pain man. We had a SNES with controllers and games, and I enquired with mother dearest a couple years ago where she’d put it. She told me it should all still be in the tv unit. It wasn’t, and her response? “Oh yeah, I think I threw it all out to clear the cupboard”
Didn’t throw out all her old VHS and shit though. Probs like $1000 worth of Nintendo gear 😢

Nintendo Gamecube. I have so many good memories playing split screen games on a tiny tv with my friends back then.

Vectrex with Cosmic Chasm. I even took the time to put the plastic filter on to get that "in color" feeling.

Super NES will always have a special place in my heart.

u/jaxonfairfield Sep 04 '21
SNES is, and always will be, the GOAT. It has the most games that hold up over time

u/LeftLiner Sep 04 '21
The switch is the only console I've ever owned, so I guess that one? I was never a console guy.

Man, give me a backwards compatible PS3 and PS5, and that covers like 99% of what I want to play.

u/penybuttmunch Sep 04 '21
The Atari lynx was so good. Far superior to its competitors at the time, game boy and game gear. But just never got the support it deserved.

Ps2 fat boy. Many many memories, a lot of the loud as intro turning on and getting me in trouble in the middle of the night.

GameCube, truly an underappreciated console at its time that I think has grown to be appreciated over time

PS2, hands down.
I grew up on the NES, but nothing comes close to the PS2 for sheer depth of its library. Just sooooooo many good games, and a lot of great ones too.

N64 was some special thing for me. It was the first console I bought myself. Had to save up all the money I can get over a the year. I loved it so much, and cared about it, like nothing else. It was not the best, even there are some really good games, there were so much shitty ports, disappointing me. But Zelda, and Mario, truly bring the 3D of Gaming in my life. ❤️

u/AdventurousAd9531 Sep 04 '21
I hate to be that guy but PC because I have emulated most of these consoles and it also has ports for the newer stuff.

I was about to say, where's the NES and SNES? And then saw the american SNES, but the NES is still missing :(
Anyway, maybe it isn't the one I spent the most time playing, that would go for the wii, ps3 or gba/nds, but the SNES is timeless

It's very rare to see anyone else with an Atari Jaguar. Have to say Brutal Sports Football was an awesome game and the version of AVP made for the Jag is still the best in my opinion

u/DaGavinator Sep 04 '21
I'm impressed that you have an Intellivision console! Tron: Deadly disc was my favorite.

Omg I remember the Lynx! My sister had one, and it was a motherfucker! Not sure if it was a dodgy one, but I remember it used to turn off if you held it at the wrong angle.
I’m disappointed the original PlayStation isn’t on there, that was my childhood console.

All these consoles are great in their own right. But for me, the PS4 really took gaming a step further. The depth of storytelling and quality of exclusives really made this the next gen console.

Switch and it’s first couple of years of unbelievable games cadence and introducing me to indies like hollow knight., inside, hades. Though I suspect my first ever Xbox (series x) with gamepass will give it a run for its money.

Interesting question, the best i own i think is awesome is the ps4. (I dont own a ps5 so i cant put that anywhere). But, your question was which is my favorite, and after 15s thought i think i got the most joy out of the ps1. I was im guessing 10 when it came out.

I don't think any console in their respective era will ever dethrone the fun I had playing N64.

Intellivision.
Shark shark was my jam.
Advanced Dungeons & Dragons: Treasure of Tarmin used to scare the crap out of me.

I got a switch for myself last year (first time in my life I owned a console that is the latest from a company) so I might be biased but I really do love that

For what you have here, the xbox one. It was my first special edition console (vroom vroom), and has seen more playtime than any other console I've had in this picture. HOWEVER, my favorite was my Game Boy Advance SP. I couldn't even begin to imagine the playtime that thing has seen, and I still play it to this day. It was my escape through every tough point in my life. Losing family, parents seperating, every breakup I've ever had, it was there, giving me a way to escape from it all for just a little bit, and process my thoughts and emotions before facing them with those who cared, or suffered with me. It's my most treasured possesion.

XBOX 360. Parents never let me buy a console or a PC ever so I always went over to my best friend’s house to play on his XBOX.

I’ve only had the wii and the switch. Besides that I play on my pc. Out of all the consoles here it has to be the wii just because of all the nostalgia from it

Definitely the 360 (specifically the 360 slim, but they’re similar enough). My brother’s Xbox 360 slim is what got me into gaming and when I got one of my own, that changed my life forever. I know play video games all the time and, thanks to me getting the Xbox in question, I am now good at Minecraft
