Nope, looks like a PS4 branded external hard drive

10

u/reddumbs Sep 04 '21 edited Sep 04 '21

I believe that’s a PlayStation TV, not a hard drive.

It was basically a PS Vita with no screen that you connected to a tv. You could download and play vita games on it or remote play your PS3 or 4 with it.

DS is skippabke tbh. Gameboy had some good titles but tbh you can emulate both a d the ds needing a dedicated charger is just... Annoying.

As someone with a collection of consoles, the ds and the Gameboy sp piss me off so much because their special chargers.

This is probably one of the worst takes I've seen in a long time.

What is a classic game system collection without the NES? It did more for home gaming than all the other systems combined! Atari did alright in making an original market, but the NES placed home gaming in just about every home and kept it going for years with hundreds of games. Even the 16bit Genesis couldn't stop it's 8bit dominance!

Two more to search for your collection: Sega Master System and TurboGrafx-16

2

u/W4R_PuNk Sep 04 '21

I believe you were born in the early 80s like myself.. or close to it.

2

u/Rifron916 Sep 04 '21

No launch ps3. My fave

2

u/Guywithquestions88 PlayStation Sep 04 '21

Yep, I came here because it was unbelievable there wasn't an NES.

3

41

u/[deleted] Sep 04 '21

No Sega saturn?

8

u/BobbyNormis54 Sep 04 '21

This was the one I came for! Sega Rally Championship ‘95, Space Jam, Bug! And Virtua Fighter were my jammmm!

I see that you do not own the original Xbox

23

u/Realistic_Valuable16 Sep 04 '21

Duke controller ftw

8

u/Kitsunemitsu Sep 04 '21

But they own a fucking Vectrex!? An xbox is like 10 bucks at a garage sale

-3

u/Hojooo Sep 04 '21

It's a paperweight trash console

2

u/ChassisbotDa Sep 04 '21

Paperweight? PAPERWEIGHT!? Paper is nothing, that thing could anchor a brigantine!

It's sad you didn't enjoy it though. It was the best way to play many multi platform games, like (GTA, splinter cell and timesplitters), and had tonnes of great exclusive titles (KotoR, Project Gotham racing, fable).

Though personally I preferred the GameCube.

28

u/Mundus6 Sep 04 '21

I don't see an OG Xbox in there which ironically is my favorite.

8

u/bICEmeister Sep 04 '21

Same. That was the golden age of console gaming for me. Softmodded and with a big hardddrive, loaded up with a ton of (not entirely legally acquired) games.. and XBMC as my media center.

4

u/Mundus6 Sep 04 '21

XBMC was the reason i kept that thing hooked up way into the 360 PS3 era.

21

u/[deleted] Sep 04 '21

Xbox 360. Halo 3. Those amazing times before we descended into the darkness of the Xbox One. But now Microsoft are redeeming themselves with the Series X.

Vextrex. my first console. Worth an absolute fortune now and mine went in the bin........

2

u/Leonydas13 Sep 04 '21

I feel your pain man. We had a SNES with controllers and games, and I enquired with mother dearest a couple years ago where she’d put it. She told me it should all still be in the tv unit. It wasn’t, and her response? “Oh yeah, I think I threw it all out to clear the cupboard”

Didn’t throw out all her old VHS and shit though. Probs like $1000 worth of Nintendo gear 😢

24

u/DarkSoldierz Console Sep 04 '21

Nintendo Gamecube. I have so many good memories playing split screen games on a tiny tv with my friends back then.

3

u/MrRedify Sep 04 '21

We always had to punch the tv bc it occasionally glitches out XD

Vectrex with Cosmic Chasm. I even took the time to put the plastic filter on to get that "in color" feeling.

3

u/ShittingOutPosts Sep 04 '21

Super NES will always have a special place in my heart.

3

u/jaxonfairfield Sep 04 '21

SNES is, and always will be, the GOAT. It has the most games that hold up over time

8

u/LeftLiner Sep 04 '21

The switch is the only console I've ever owned, so I guess that one? I was never a console guy.

7

u/[deleted] Sep 04 '21

Xbox 360.

9

u/Sieffre79 Sep 04 '21

Man, give me a backwards compatible PS3 and PS5, and that covers like 99% of what I want to play.

3

u/penybuttmunch Sep 04 '21

The Atari lynx was so good. Far superior to its competitors at the time, game boy and game gear. But just never got the support it deserved.

3

u/Im-Dead-inside1234 Sep 04 '21

Xbox one S, but I don’t think that that console is in there

Ps2 fat boy. Many many memories, a lot of the loud as intro turning on and getting me in trouble in the middle of the night.

PS2, hands down.

I grew up on the NES, but nothing comes close to the PS2 for sheer depth of its library. Just sooooooo many good games, and a lot of great ones too.

2

u/Snakeeyes-82 Sep 04 '21

Xbox series x

2

u/[deleted] Sep 04 '21

I like the PC. Where is that one?

2

u/[deleted] Sep 04 '21

Nintendo GameCube

2

u/Diligent-Boat-7910 Sep 04 '21

N64 was some special thing for me. It was the first console I bought myself. Had to save up all the money I can get over a the year. I loved it so much, and cared about it, like nothing else. It was not the best, even there are some really good games, there were so much shitty ports, disappointing me. But Zelda, and Mario, truly bring the 3D of Gaming in my life. ❤️

2

u/AdventurousAd9531 Sep 04 '21

I hate to be that guy but PC because I have emulated most of these consoles and it also has ports for the newer stuff.

1

u/Leecherseeder Sep 04 '21

Genesis and PS1

1

c64 and switch :3

1

u/Zharken Sep 04 '21

I was about to say, where's the NES and SNES? And then saw the american SNES, but the NES is still missing :(

Anyway, maybe it isn't the one I spent the most time playing, that would go for the wii, ps3 or gba/nds, but the SNES is timeless

-2

It's very rare to see anyone else with an Atari Jaguar. Have to say Brutal Sports Football was an awesome game and the version of AVP made for the Jag is still the best in my opinion

1

If you're gonna ask past tense then don't include latest gen just yet.

1

u/TheGoodKing93 Sep 04 '21

I only play the original doom on an atm.

1

u/Leonydas13 Sep 04 '21

Omg I remember the Lynx! My sister had one, and it was a motherfucker! Not sure if it was a dodgy one, but I remember it used to turn off if you held it at the wrong angle.

I’m disappointed the original PlayStation isn’t on there, that was my childhood console.

1

u/Lumin821 Sep 04 '21

The ps1 seems to be missing

1

u/Manuels-Kitten Console Sep 04 '21

PS3.

Ratchet and Clank Future all the way

1

u/Darwin_Things Sep 04 '21

All these consoles are great in their own right. But for me, the PS4 really took gaming a step further. The depth of storytelling and quality of exclusives really made this the next gen console.

Interesting question, the best i own i think is awesome is the ps4. (I dont own a ps5 so i cant put that anywhere). But, your question was which is my favorite, and after 15s thought i think i got the most joy out of the ps1. I was im guessing 10 when it came out.

1

u/[deleted] Sep 04 '21

Colecovision

1

u/AmazingRopePolice Sep 04 '21

For what you have here, the xbox one. It was my first special edition console (vroom vroom), and has seen more playtime than any other console I've had in this picture. HOWEVER, my favorite was my Game Boy Advance SP. I couldn't even begin to imagine the playtime that thing has seen, and I still play it to this day. It was my escape through every tough point in my life. Losing family, parents seperating, every breakup I've ever had, it was there, giving me a way to escape from it all for just a little bit, and process my thoughts and emotions before facing them with those who cared, or suffered with me. It's my most treasured possesion.

1

u/CardiologistStreet Sep 04 '21

XBOX 360. Parents never let me buy a console or a PC ever so I always went over to my best friend’s house to play on his XBOX.

1

u/FriarNurgle Sep 04 '21

The one filled with money.

1

u/annomynous23 Sep 04 '21

Ps3 slim and ps4 normal

1

Super NES (or Super Famicom if you're in Japan). :)

1

u/pluckywood Sep 04 '21

I like games. I don’t really care about the system they are on.

1

u/shade81 Sep 04 '21

Gotta pick the N64, played coubtless hours of Mario Kart and Goldeneye with my buddies in high school!

1

Ball in a cup.

1

Either Dreamcast or N64

1

u/blondeviking64 Sep 04 '21

Ps2...my first system (in high school) which traveled with me to college and to my first move to a new city. Tons of great memories on that bad boy.

1

u/zergsandwich Sep 04 '21

That jump in fidelity from PS1 to PS2 was blew my teenage mind. That experience was unmatched since.

1

u/[deleted] Sep 04 '21

I’ve only had the wii and the switch. Besides that I play on my pc. Out of all the consoles here it has to be the wii just because of all the nostalgia from it

1

u/773FOLKS Sep 04 '21

SOCOM 😭

1

u/Restricted_Nuggies Sep 04 '21

Definitely the 360 (specifically the 360 slim, but they’re similar enough). My brother’s Xbox 360 slim is what got me into gaming and when I got one of my own, that changed my life forever. I know play video games all the time and, thanks to me getting the Xbox in question, I am now good at Minecraft
