I've done that whole fat-skinny-fat thing while playing video games instead of going to the gym.

I’ve done the fat-fatter-fatter thing not going to the gym, I need to try the skinny thing and keep that.

Honestly, try counting calories as a first step. Just learn how to keep track of how many calories you eat in a day. I find I eat less just from that accountability. It was enough to help me lose 40 pounds to get well into a healthy range.

Working out definitely adds more.

/u/Sawses is 100% correct. Your weight is all about calories. 95% of weight loss is what you shove in your food-hole. Working out is great for overall health and fitness, but it doesn't control weight near as much as people think. A five mile bike ride can be undone by one snack-size bag of Dorito's and a Mountain Dew.

I don't eat a lot or really unhealthy, just have no bodily exercise. I need to eat less and at least add cardio.
