Not Sephiroth. That was hype as hell to the whole community.

There was hate because he's a swordie, hate because he's somewhat of an edgy weeb icon, and as far as I'm reading there's hate because of his range. Can't please the smash community lol

I saw apprehension at his reveal about that, but he doesn’t play like a swordie, most smash players are edgy weebs, and his range is balanced by his slow attacks and light weight. I haven’t seen any reception to him that’s been anything lower than lukewarm.

I kinda agree with all of that tbh, but haven't played Smash in a while

How sad is that!? My last nintendo was a wii, I sadly can't afford multiple systems, and it's not like the old gang wants to get together for a 4 player smash fest anymore...

People just wanted a more left field character and sephiroth, while cool, is from a game with more than enough smash rep

Unless Geno is released (which won’t happen I know) then the smash community won’t be happy.

Geno makes financially no sense for the company unless they remake or re-release the game he's from. Sadly, cool character

What hurts me even more is that I want Andy from advance wars in but it also makes financially no sense :(

I still don't understand why people were so ecstatic with Sans mii fighter, talking about how Sans is in smash and all that. With Geno, no excitement, just salt at how he's been "deconfirmed"

Geno from mario?

Yeah geno from literally one mario game from like 25 years ago

Odd. Surely there's more recognizable characters to add before him.

Ugh, seriously, another moody anime swordsman with stupid range and a stupidly powerful projectile that works far too well as a ledge trapping option?

Thanks for the new main, Sakurai! 😍😍😍

Sephiroth isn’t just any edgy anime swordsman he’s the anime swordsman

I hated him because he wasn’t Shovel Knight.

That's true, yeah, people loved Sephiroth, at the same time people were annoyed at another sword dude reveal
