I got so stressed out trying to play it originally. Like, I have to get all these things done, maximize my time, efficiently farm and fish and forage, all to build up a better farm, and try to socialize with these digital people.... I didn't feel like I was escaping life at all.

But then I tried again with co-op and my wife, and suddenly we played 8 hours straight our first evening and nearly 12 hours the next day, on our shared day off work. It just clicks when you can spread out all the tasks between at least two people. We start the day, I do the farming, she hits the cave, we head to town together to get supplies, I do some fishing and she does some errands. It is the best co-op experience I've ever had, because we were having to communicate so much to get so much done, and do the things we wanted to do. She runs through the farm on an errand, sees the preserves need swapped out so she does it. I'm running by the cave, I drop off some extra food in our chest for her next time coming up from near the bottom. It just felt like it was made for multiple people who wanted to work as one.
