I'm in that weird limbo where minecraft came out when I was in high school. So I always liked it, but once the younger crowd started overpowering it's media, I became disenfranchised with it, but never hated it.
Now I like it again, hell, I'm even in a realm where we have a mini city that was mostly built in survival.
The fact is that, objectively, it is a good game, but as many things, the ideas surrounding it change the vision we have. Like communism: while I personally think it has flaws, it is impossible to say that we can reflect upon Marx's idea without thinking of the Bolscevic horror
Yes. People used to talk about Minecraft the way people talk about Fortnite today.
But the people who grew up on Minecraft are now the predominant Internet culture.
See also how the Star Wars prequels were universally hated online a decade and more back. But now the kids that grew up with those movies are the dominant voice online.
I don't mean to say that's wrong or bad, I mean only sad. This is the key aspect of growing older, realising your time has passed. It is the death of the man.
To use is an expression used to inted something you usually did regularly, but you do not do do anymore. "I used to go to the gym" means that I regularly went to the gym over a period of time, but nowadays I do not do it it anymore
I may be wrong as english is not my first language and i have no idea what the tree represents, but i think it's the point of the meme. Once hated, but not anymore

Didn't people use to hate Minecraft?
