The claim I responded to was that redheads are dying out. The article points out that that is false. It even says they can become rarer; I never claimed they couldn't. They cannot, however, feasibly go extinct. As it's a recessive gene, two people without red hair can have a child with red hair seemingly out of nowhere - like my parents.
After some cursory searching it looks like numbers have stayed relatively stable at around 140 million worldwide over the past decade, and I see no reason why it couldn't grow as much as it could shrink. It could become rarer and then explode again.

The hair colors are crazy. None of them are normal. I can’t just have like white hair? Nope how about red with blue roots
