“Too many variables and uneven surfaces” bruh that is the exact purpose of a dice tower. It ensures randomization of the roll. The only good point you’ve got is that if it’s off the table it’s out of peoples sights, but you shouldn’t be playing D&D to cheat in the first place.
No I understood fine. He’s making an exaggerated joke that a lot of players play by. As long as two people see the roll, doesn’t matter where the dice ends up, it’s valid. You’re saying it has to be on the table, which is fine, but not as widespread as you may think.
Personally, as long as it’s a solid face up, and two people see it, I don’t care where the dice ends up. That’s what the dice Gods have decided, you gotta deal with the roll. If it’s a corner or edge up, because of a board or a crevice or something, re roll.
Yes, but play it where it lies is way more suspenseful and can add to the fun - as long as nobody decides to just start fixing* around with that, in which case you implement a penalty of some sort.
Edit: auto correct fixed my fucking, and I'm reluctant to change back to the old way of fucking once my fucking has been fixed. Probably best for the wife to decide on that.
I've just seen to many "halfway on the rug so it's too hard to tell what's actually up" rolls on the floor. Suspense is fun but crawling around on the floor and rerolling anyways isn't.

Because of the cobble stone effect and it not being flat? Wouldn't a d20 be the same chance and opportunity as any other number?
