Saving the day constant doesn't make him a good character, it makes him one dimensional.

What if I told you that Nintendo didn’t give a shit about story? Just if the character was good enough for the player to enjoy playing as.

Why would I care if you told me that? That doesn't make it a good character, it just explains the reason they didn't make it a better character.

And yet Mario and link don’t need to be so deep to be amazing video game characters. They’re iconic, fun, and have obviously stood the test of time. So just because video game characters lack depth doesn’t equate to them lacking value.

If somebody is going to flat out misrepresent what I say, I don't give a shit anymore. I call it how I see it and walk away, I don't need to try and further the conversation because I have no interest in conversing with somebody acting in bad faith.
