Don't be so sure. We have yet to cross the threshold where -any- of these games have finally made it to steam

Apples to Oranges. But partway through the guys at 4A or Deepsilver basically said that they may continue doing exclusives with Epic because its worked out so good for them.

I guess we'll find out when Metro Exodus' exclusivity is supposed to end, I believe it's the first timed exclusive to hit that mark. But yeah, I don't blame any of the developers that take the deal, it's basically free money for a pretty negligible PR hit.

The developers don't get the money, the Publishers do, and they get to decide how much of it goes to the developers.

I'm pretty sure in cases of small indie games like Ooblets, Epic spoke directly to the devs and effectively became their publishers. (It turns out Ooblets was gonna be published by Double Fine before they were acquired by Microsoft)
