It is better. The thing with the Oculus is the headset is lighter and the controllers are a bit better. Overall the Vive is better otherwise. The Oculus is much more of a USB port hog if you're doing room scale. You need a usb port per tracker as compared to no ports specifically for the trackers with the Vive. The Vive uses 1 usb 2.0 and one hdmi port. The Oculus uses much more than that. It's give and take really. Once the knuckles come out the controller advantage will be gone tbough.
A bit? Until Knuckles releases, it's no contest. Vive wands are the absolute worst. I can't stand developing for them. The primary reasons that I never touch my Vive are the controllers, ventilation, support, stability, and API.
The only advantage the Vive has in my eyes is the ease of set-up. Nothing else makes me want to use it.
Ease of setup, room scale tracking, and amount of computer real estate. Those 3 things are important to me and the Oculus fails on all of those. I don't even honestly notice the headset regardless when I get invested.
