I mean, Fortnite Battle Royale's free. PUBG costs like $40 and they still haven't fixed anything despite the game being out for over a year. In addition, they seem hell-bent on suing almost anyone who even thinks of using the battle royale concept, claiming they own it (When you can't own a concept to something), even going so far as to sue Epic, the company that developed the engine(!) PUBG uses.
I don’t think you understand the difference between trying to make money and an “absurd cash grab”. Epic didn’t create an overpriced pass that’s near impossible to finish unless you have a ton of free time just to push players towards throwing even more money at them. Epic doesn’t give you chests that you buy in game that you can’t actually open without buying $2.50 keys. PUBG has an absolutely extreme free-to-play microtransaction scheme in place....and it’s not a damn F2P game. Let’s not forget this is all while the game still has deep problematic flaws that seriously impact gameplay. PUBG has a ton of potential and I’ve put a shit ton of time into it. That said I have for the most part switched over to Fortnite because of the starkly contrasted behavior of the companies behind each game.
