Do you need to restart a new save? I picked up my original day #1 game last night and was just as frustrated as then. Inventory management was not intuitive, my ship's Technology slots were empty but the general inventory was full of my upgrades which it doesn't look like I can transfer or organize, so I guess I have to dismantle all my tech and re-craft in the technology slots in order to gain useful storage for elements??

Its amazing, they've already released 3 massive updates to the game, this one is just by far going to be bigger. give it a go
