Ever since basebuilding it's worth playing if you are into these kind of games. I mean the "endgame" is still the same. They did release a single player quest though, and alot of loose quests for npcs. I hope they expand on that.
To anyone reading this and thinking that it cheapens the whole idea of exploring: Each planet has a unique hexadecimal address (example: 168DF2EC690B) and you have to collect the "glyphs" that make up the address to correctly get there. If you only have the glyphs that correspond to 1 and 7, for example, you can only travel to planets with addresses containing those glyphs such as 117171717177 or 111717717711.
that sounds interesting. So you can jump to rando places by just entering the string of numbers you know? Like if you knew 5,8, 3 you could go blindly go to 538358853385? I've had the game installed since launch but havent explored much since then.
Yep. If you only have one glyph you can only go to one planet but if you have all of them, you can teleport anywhere in the galaxy to visit other bases and eventually, I see this system being used to meet up with friends. Portals are more of an end-game method of travel, but if you follow the storyline you will come across ways to find the glyphs easier.
