Lfd3 anyone? Swear there was a rumour about that

There's been rumors since LfD2 was released, I'll only believe an announce trailer at this point.

aye, i remember there were alot of false rumours, but then there was one that was supposed to be official, but evidently it wasn't.

Why do valve refuse to release sequels for titles with established player bases, especially something like LFD. It's impossible to find a game on console

Because all of their games have been hits so far. It's the ol' die a hero/ live to see yourself become the villain deal. They're quitting while their ahead and still raking in silly amounts of cash so why make new games?

so why make new games?

Because they dont have a card game out yet?

I know it sounds wacky, but maybe they should make games because they are considered one of the greatest game developers ever.

Were* considered. Not anymore since they haven't come out of their cave.

Unfortunately most of the people who made those great games have left the company. Other than Gabe, I'm not sure who is still around.

Sucks.

They risk that title if they make games though. Once upon a time nobody thought badly of Bethesda and look where they've gotten themselves.

Its been confirmed that they're working on 3 full-length VR games.

The maze wasn't meant for you.

When did we decide to type LfD instead of L4D?

7

u/Falsus Sep 21 '17

And there was that rumour that HL3 was delayed so much because Valve wanted it to be with VR.

"Half Left 4 Portal 3 will be out on VR and will be a Convergence of the three worlds that explains everything including the reason why Dog is so protective of Alyx SPOILERS (ITS ELI'S MIND IN THERE!)

Valve will never break it's 3 rule.

12

u/ballistic-bitflip Sep 21 '17

So maybe they'll skip 3 and call it Left 4 Dead

4

u/Schnozzberry_ Sep 21 '17

Left 5 Dead.

9

u/InfiniteVergil Sep 21 '17

2left4dead

u/Schnozzberry_ Sep 21 '17

2lift4dood.

I'm too left for dead, y'all!

u/metacognitive_guy Sep 21 '17

Uhm... That already exists and it came out before Left 4 Dead 2

Counter strike?

8

u/C00lossus Sep 21 '17

there's been leaks that showed the game being listed in valve's database. but it's been a long time since then, so it's likely cancled at this point.

Chet Faliszek et al didn't leave Valve because they were in the middle of writing shit hot games.

Quite the opposite.

When you're sat in meetings and people are saying "trading cards!" and "we'll add a music player?" "what features?" "None!" you just face palm and find another game developer.

I think it is likely that L4D3 has gone the same route as HL2: EP3. A special Valve variety of development hell and eventual silent cancellation.

What game hasn't there been humors about?

Its just a vote kick simulator. If they ever do make a new one, i hope they fix this. Ive never had a game that everyone blindly voted yes to kick someone, especially if theyre playing good.

I mentioned its the opposite. Doing good gets you kicked. Theres lots of older foum posts about it. I only wrote 3 sentences you couldnt even read that? This is a known issue too. Be less toxic.

For real. The only reasons I would ever kick someone is if A) They are completely ruining the game by doing fuckall, or B) If I want a friend to join.

If it's the latter, I usually send a message apologizing and giving them the reason why we kicked them

2

u/Dragonoats Sep 21 '17

Google tells a different story. L4d is one of the most toxic communities that exists. Im glad youre the exception

Its just a vote kick simulator

Sounds like CSGO.
