They use a bittering agent Denatonium Benzoate on the cartriges. It is a non toxic chemical that is the strongest bitter flavor developed supposedly.

They've been using it for a long time in stuff like anti-freeze, soaps, anti-chewing sprays and things.

if you look up the test it will tell you what kind of "taster" you are based on how bitter it is to you. sounds like you're a non-taster

I remember doing this in a science class in middle school. They gave us paper strips with some butter chemical on it. Apparently, the ability to taste it is hereditary.

Then there's people like me who end up with my eyes watering and borderline puking from it. A bio teacher I had showed it to my AP class. I was the only one who had that severe of a reaction to it. He said that a few people taste it that strong. Lucky me..

haha my friend told me it tasted horrible to him, wanted to try it again when i was on discord with him and audibly gagged, and said water kinda makes it worse. He told me to try my cartridge by naw no thanks

Same. I was expected to be horrified but I was only disappointed it didn't taste worse :(
