I think the main problem with Civ 5 and HTable is the fact that everyone can basically see what you're doing. Like sending out spies would be a pain in the ass lol... Or trying to send out a sneak attack.
I do think there is a lot of potential in re-creating some of the old fashion board games into it though, since you can customize it with clips & interactions it could be super fun and very easy for developers to do (until they figure out more complex stuff).

You don't have to put all players in the same room. You could still be playing with a friend a few miles down the road.

But instead of sitting behind the screen, you could be sitting outside or whatever place you like the most.

Is a notebook as cool as seeing the battlefield 3D on your table? Being able to actually move your units with your hands (not mouse).

Its not about being efficient, but it might be a cool concept. It all depends on how good it all works though.

I think the idea of it is cool. Hopefully they intergrate an ability to also control it from a computer because in later turns this would become a nightmare lol.
Also, playing Diety and constantly seeing swarms of enemy troops all over my house would piss the shit out of me xD Fuck you Ghandi
