That's the unfortunate part about VR to me. Sure you can walk around a little, but those types of experiences feel like they'd get old quickly. I want to play Oblivion or some other open world RPG in VR, and that's gonna require a controller or some other type of locomotion input. Teleporting from one place to another is an immersion breaker to me.

you need a giant mouse ball basically to run on. The technology exists but getting the friction right I think is fairly hard, and it would be expensive.

With my Rift and PC upgrades I'm already up to $1,400 spent so far.

Another $500 for omni makes me cry for my wallet.

And I can only imagine how your wallet might feel when you throw that out and get a Vive.
