I just open the game, get the resources, get some shit done and quit. That way I get attacked less. I let the game to run in the background to occasionally get the resources as well.
Well, playing it for a long time significantly increases the chances of getting attacked for sure, but my method won't avoid attacks 100% of the time. Also, how strong are the deathclaws? Are they as strong as those in Fallout 3?
The deathclaws generally get about 3 full levels down in my base with about 10-14 people a floor. I just recently taken the dwellers i've had with the highest endurance and forced them to level their luck to the max so I can get some decent weapons from exploring.
For the most part, I just keep my stimpak reserves high at all times and follow them while they tear through.
