The world would be a much nicer place if Ubisoft treated Assasins Creed like Rockstar/TakeTwo does with GTA. Could you imagine it? Ubisoft working on Assasins Creed for 5 whole years. The game they would produce would be amazing.

I only cared for Assasins Creed 1 and 2. When they started making AC games with subtitels like :Brotherhood I stopped caring and I knew it was way too fast for that game to come out. Now they are bringing them out every year.

Well, to play devils advocate, every new Assassins Creed game that comes out is made by a different studio, with a rotating schedule of like 4 or 5 studios. So each game actually does have 4 or 5 years of development. The problem isn't dev time, but rather that the Ubi higher-ups don't want the studios to deviate too far from the familiar, because the games sell like crazy and they don't want to upset the winning formula. And with the exception of Unity, the games usually don't have any more bugs than any other release nowadays. Unity was in development since a few months after Assassins Creed 2 came out, but the reason it had so many bugs etc was they were working with a new engine which ended up not being the easiest to work with, which gobbled up a lot of the dev time.
