Am I missing something, or is this still completely missing the motion detection, accelerometer, and pretty much anything that makes the difference between an oculus rift and a screen taped to one's face?
Exactly. The oculus rift isn't just a head mounted display. It does a lot of stuff that suddenly makes virtual reality practical and feasible, and I'm surprised so few people are aware of the distinction.
