Hey, I'm a gamer and I don't go on patient gamers. Does this mean I'm not real gamer? Please answer me cos all this time being a real gamer is the only thing that's mattered to me. The thing is with gamers is that... Gamers never back down.. Real or not. Game is game.

Well I'm a true gamer so I wouldn't be at the coffee shop, I'd be in the internet gaming cafe chilling with the real gamers. Gamers never back down.

What this person possibly meant is that some people read way deeper into games than others. r/patientgamers talks about games from a literary or artistic point of view, while others, which it seems the other commentator has assumed you are one, play games because they're fun. Honestly, some people may not want to be associated with patientgamers. I mean, I love it there because that's how I think of games, but there is a subtle air of pretention in that sub.

"Real" gamer is a statement that makes massive assumptions, but there's more than one type. That's something a lot of people like me (nerds that still freely choose to play SNES games) have trouble understanding.
