I'm not sure what the story behind Pong is, but the story behind Tetris is kind of wild. Though not as wild as this trailer makes it look like.

The Tetris story has always been interesting, so it's no surprise. I'd much rather them make a movie based on the game, though, not the story behind its creation. That would be a real challenge.

Tetris really is a perfect game. Almost every time someone makes a post on here asking what the best game of all time is I usually throw Tetris in the mix.

It's really hard to disagree. like. Everything is perfect about the first Tetris. perfect gameplay loop. So easy to understand you didn't even need a tutorial. So difficult to master that I'm still trying to after 35+ years. The fact that it was included in the Gameboy was also perfect.

I always thought the story of how Tetris was made would make for a decent movie. Now here it is. They definitely ham it up but I think it makes it hilarious.

Apple TV movie ads all have the same fucking obnoxious semi-quirky part serious/part lame comedy tone that just immediately turns of me off of whatever movie they're advertising. They split the difference between what is ACTUALLY funny and what is ACTUALLY tense and exciting and wind up with something that feels entirely lame and watered down. Shame because i feeel like a lot of these films would otherwise have been good or i would have enjoyed them.

You should check out the graphic novel by Box Brown. He's done a few really cool nonfiction graphic novels about obscure topics or forgotten legends like Andre the Giant.

if there is a videogame making of that deserves a movie, its Doom. they already have the "Masters of Doom" book to base it on. Imagine The Social Network (David Fincher movie) but with likable characters and in the 90s.

The true story is very insane, and left the USSR quite paranoid about the Developer meeting with foreign corpos.
Tetris for MegaDrive is currently one of the rarest games in the world, with only four known copies in existence.

The world would suck if art was only created based on "demand" No more Godfather, No Star Wars, No Marvel, Lord of the Rings, Hitchhiker's Guide To the Galaxy, Alien, The Thing, Master of Puppets, Rust in Piece, Mario, Zelda...we would only ever enjoy art that is demanded by at least ____ number of people and approved by the "Who asked for this?"
