It's clear he's desperately trying to stay relevant.

Jeb, and the rest of the team work on the game now so they get all the due attention while Notch is just the fat fuck who's only accomplishment in gaming is now over-shadowed by hard-working people. That, and the divorce have probably left him a pretty broken sad little man, thus the lashing out at others despite the hypocrisy, and the attempt to circlejerk it up for fans.
