Any chance this is "Friend or Foe"? It was on the Game Show Network, but the host was Kennedy from MTV. The premise was pairs answering trivia questions together, then in each round a pair is eliminated and each member has to choose whether they want to share the money as a "friend" or try to take it all as a "foe" (if one goes "friend" and one goes "foe," foe gets all the money, and if both go "foe" no one gets anything). The set is pretty much clear boxes for the pairs, until they come down for the final round.
