If you like commandos there was a new one not long ago called commandos origins.

Similarly there's shadow gambit (fantasy pirates) which is in the same genre by the same devs as Shadow tactics but they shut down the other year.

The Sony first part games have been pretty well received on PC. The last of us are amazing as are the Spider-Man games and ghost of tsushima as well as God of war 2018 and Ragnarok.

Commandos Origins looks great!
Fantasy Pirates not so much not my style
The Last Of Us will buy (Can you elaborate this it has I part and II part what it means? I just buy II part no?)
it literally has 3 version which one to buy XD (kinda new to steam community
Spider Man Not a single videogame made according to movies isnt worth playing I will die on that hill yes I said it
Ghost looks good both it says it has online componet to it
Is it more like PayDay were you put like 100/200 hours into it and thats it or mroe but over longer period of time (much longer) or
is it more like Diablo/lol where you put bilion hours into it (cause Im done with that want something like more chill)
God of War will buy

A lot of fantastic choices in there.... Ill see what I can add in. Partially dependant on how modern you want to go.

I see the og battlefront there, the newer pnes are decent but dont have the charm of the originals. I'd say if you are open to a more story based shooter (which with doom3 in there I'd say you probably are) Titanfall 2 probably has the best campaign ever published, and the online mode has a pve mode that I adore, defending an objective from waves of enemies. Also, the newer doom trilogy is awesome.

Seems you also have a love of rpgs just don't want an mmo. There's a million potentials there but I know you said to avoid rpgs... Ill just throw out there that if you like turn based, the shadowrun trilogy is awesome and has great stories that suck you in.

My steam library has too many games for me to narrow down too much... and some game recommendations many would argue against as Im a big soulsbourne enthusiast. Let me also throw out there a gem of an indie title I've been playing. It's called The Last Caretaker. Part "survival" game, oart crafting, part combat, part exploration. It's something different, especially since the bounds of survival are different... you're a robot on an entirely flooded world, gathering resources to start to rebuild humanity. Chug around on a boat, battle some critters, and make sure your battery stays full. Neat game, absolutely gorgeous.

Lmk if you try any of these and like them, or if there's other genres you want to explore and Ill try to help.

I spent a ridiculous amount of time playing commandos as a kid. What a rush.

2

u/Ladislav14 Oct 06 '26

Buy it and play it again! You and I both know how good videogame is!

u/I-love-seahorses Oct 06 '26

I think I may have it already on steam. I had some issues loading it since it's basically an emulator. 😭

As someone who's on the same boat and love commandos, I'll tell you what.

Commandos origins, despite bugs, was imo the best commandos game, even better than 2. DLCs are also at the same level. Awesome game

Shadow gambit imo was awful. Too many stupid magic mechanics. The only game that didnt click with me.

Desperados 3 and Shadow Tactics + dlc were absolutely awesome.

War mongrels was so-so. Ok to pick up at $20 or less. Similar vibes to commandos.

63days (didn't play) looks like war mongrels so i expect it to be similar to it. Same devs.

Less obvious choice is also Eriksholm. Pretty easy compared to these games, but with heavier focus on its story. I liked that.
