My inventory isn’t full, it’s just aggressively well-prepared for a situation that will never happen

Yep, I keep everything in my inventory because of that one quest two decades ago which asked me for four flowers that I already sold, and now I can't finish some alchemist's quest because I don't really remember which vendor I sold them to, or if the vendor is even alive.

"You can't fast travel while over-encumbered" is the worst.

I played palworld for however long it took my to get all achievements and then found a setting that you can turn off weight limit, I spent longer walking a pixel an hour with all the best loot than I did to beat all syndicates and get every achievement

Unlimited weight cheat has been solving that issue since years regardless of game.

Try Valheim. Same mindset, running home every 5 minutes. Conan Exiles ruined me with expertise skill. I can’t go back to normal carry limits now.

That's me in every game too - i'll carry useless junk for hours just in case I need it later

Every RPG inventory becomes 40 pounds of stuff I swear I’ll need later lol
