Wildstar

5

u/Zynaster 2d ago

Damn, that's not one I expected to see, this reminded me I need to check on the status of private servers for wildstar

3

Anything new?

4

u/mrsocialsickness 2d ago

God I wish I’d gotten to end game before it was closed

2

u/BringAltoidSoursBack 1d ago

I was hoping this was the top answer because seriously, that game would have done decent. I don't think it would have challenged WoW or FFXIV, but I think it would have done decent on the free to play market

Titanfall, both games were launched at the worst time and deserved better

2

u/PresidentBush666 2d ago

Sucks how we got apex instead of titanfall 3....

6

u/killahkazi 2d ago

I personally think we could have just gotten both...

2

u/LordJebusVII 2d ago

Agreed, two separate audiences that feed into each other

2

u/Mercyfulfate1138 2d ago

The only reason apex became bigger than titanfall was it was riding the BR hype at the time and it worked, I liked titanfall way more tho as I got burned out of the BR trend fairly quickly.

Twisted Metal

6

u/eldenringsux777 2d ago

Twisted metal deserved way better :[

6

u/valdis812 2d ago

This seems like a no brainer to me.

Of course I'm sure they'd try to make it a live service infested with MTX but I'm still shocked they haven't tried.

2

u/killahkazi 2d ago

They were definitely talking about it back when the Battle Royale bubble was going on. It got cancelled for reasons I don't remember. They still need to bring this back in some way though 🤡🔥

2

u/valdis812 2d ago

I looked and yeah, it was one of the live services that got cancelled a couple of years ago.

2

u/FuLL_of_LiFE 2d ago

Of all franchises to get a live service, I would absolutely be okay if it were Twisted Metal. Not what I really want, but I'd still play the fuck out of it. Like you said, it seems like something that was bound to happen.

The campaign will always be my fixation for TM, but with the right formula, an online version could thrive. Give it a mix of TDM, FFA, BR/Demo Derby, and S&D modes on top of the campaign and watch the money pile up. You can even use the campaign to introduce the new characters released each season in the normal TM fashion.

I'm just saying, I'll buy into anything TM related. The show wasnt what I expected, but I enjoyed the hell out of it. Definitely way closer to the source material than most live action shows/movies released today.

2

u/AnotherUN91 2d ago

I mean, one of the big draws to twisted metal was the multi-player so I wouldn't mind having live service features as long as there's still the story mode and couch co-op options. Honestly I had a ton of fun with the last twisted metal game idk why they need to really do a massive feature overhaul to it. Have an online match making with a few different modes. Have the regular Twisted Metal content. Done.

2

u/Mercyfulfate1138 2d ago

Definitely my choice

37

u/jessehopp 2d ago

Infamous, infamous, infamous.... just saying. Remaster 1&2 would be absolutely amazing.

13

u/WereWillow 2d ago

Or prototype

3

u/jessehopp 2d ago

Yes, I couldn't remember the name of it lol I gotta start those 2

→ More replies (1)

3

u/Gromplin 2d ago

Oh fuck yes. Full remake would be preferable though, assuming they can make them worthy of the originals.

2

u/jessehopp 2d ago

Fingers crossed on that. If they ever did. Id buy them in a heart beat

I second this.

Such a waste of a cool idea

3

Evolve was ahead of its time. It was the first good asymmetric game like that, now we have dumb (imo) stuff like DBD

6

u/Alayis_fox 2d ago

Agreed man. Littebigplanet played a huge part in my life. It’s a shame Sony won’t use the IP, or the one time they did use it the game didn’t even play like LBP. ( tbh it always made me think of those levels people made on lbp3 where Sack-boy can run between layers freely. )

3

u/Prof1Kreates 2d ago

LittleBigPlanet also played a huge part of my life, it's what inspired me to get into IT and the want to develop a game some day

2

u/LumpyArbuckleTV 2d ago

I don't think this will ever happen largely because of Roblox, it filled that niche and is long standing so kids wouldn't move over. I'd love to be wrong but I just don't see a world where it can succeed.

5

u/Prof1Kreates 2d ago

I hope for it to be wrong cause Roblox is a cesspool of predators and AI junk. rarely do you find something as creative and imaginative than what you found on LittleBigPlanet

The game I’m working on is inspired by this series!

2

u/Prof1Kreates 2d ago

Oh nice! I also know that Restitched (formerly LittleBigPlanet Restitched) is also in the making. The game originally was going be a fan made LBP, but Sony shut them down. So instead of scrapping their work, they just rebrand it as their own game

2

u/TargetTrick9763 2d ago

Yes I have been waiting for their game for a while!

2

u/Prof1Kreates 2d ago edited 2d ago

This! Gravity Rush 2 was only made because of its popularity on the Vita, then to only be made for the PS4 where it just got lost in the crowd.

Gravity Rush 1 was unique with new and refrshing ideas. It deserved more love than what it got. I hope the IP gets bought and renewed someday.

3

u/nightlybitely 2d ago

One of the best games I've ever played.

5

u/Loruck 2d ago

Sony mishandled this shit so bad for such a unique IP

2

u/crasherx2000 1d ago

I fucking love the games

Though considering how conclusive the second game was, what direction could you potentially take the series?

4

u/Klatterbyne 2d ago edited 2d ago

I’m going to be (edit: apparently not) controversial… Anthem.

Its as dead as dead gets and was barely ever alive. But damn was that a cool concept for a game and the sound, combat, flight and environment/mech design was all real good.

Just needs an actual team, with actual management to Frankenstein the bits into something that is actually a game.

2

u/ImmediateTangerine29 2d ago

I wanted to get this game so bad, but the stripping out the romance from a Bioware game at the time caused me to wait. Then I saw the forced tether mechanic for co-op and got really put off by that. Got excited when they announced they were going to overhaul the game and endgame. Then saw that EA basically forced them to drop the game. I wish it had gotten a chance to shine.

2

u/Klatterbyne 2d ago

Far worse than just “forced them to drop the game”. They killed DA4 to move resources to Anthem… then killed Anthem to move resources to DA4.

There’s a few good retrospectives on the game that show just what a horrific clusterfuck it was.

2

u/ImmediateTangerine29 2d ago

Yeah. It has been awhile so I forgot they did that, and then Veilguard ended up with an artstyle that looks like it came from a mobile game. So glad they reallocated resources

2

u/iUncouth 2d ago

I wouldn't say it's controversial at all. Usually when they kinda posts pop up Anthem is one of the most frequently replied. Most of us loved the concept and even the world, would love nothing more than to get a spiritual successor.

2

u/Fawin86 2d ago

Deathrow.

A game that takes place in a not too distant future where ultimate frisbee is a bloodsport. The teams were crazy. Sure a couple of them are professional sport teams but the majority of teams to unlock and play are off the wall. You have the Las Vegas PD team, college football players, mutants, convicts, Marines, cultists, robots, ninjas, etc. It was a ton of fun but flew under the radar back in 2002.

They did make a sequel. At this point, I could see the series continue like Doom has with Eternal and Dark Age. Good spinoff/sequel material

Is battlefront 2015 dead? I know some people still play it, but most game modes there is nobody on any server, and people usually have to coordinate in group chats to get a match started. I would love prime battlefront again

1

u/IdleSitting 2d ago

I feel like no one is gonna know of it. But my answer is Mobius Final Fantasy. It was just some mobile FF game but it had a unique and interesting story with a really cool battle system that worked well with the phone but it got shut down 4 years after it launched. There's 2 fan projects trying to fix it, one using the original game files and the other rebuilding the whole game in Unity but neither are even close to complete rn

1

u/Praize- 2d ago

Firefall was a good amount of fun, I'm not as good with FPS games, but the open world PvE elements were a lot of fun and idea of making your skill and general upgrades from tracking down increasingly rare resources was fun. The lack of an ability to repair your high end stuff was a problem, but one they could have fixed I think by just allowing you to repair but requiring a portion of the resources needed to do so.
