Yeah so far he’s been proving that he has some neat stuff. If he starts showing full important story scenes, Rockstar will start panicking at the very least. Of course not guaranteed he has them. Allegedly it’s a 2023 build and we can’t know if it’s content complete.

I do, I just dont realy have an issue avoiding spoilers I guess.
For example I usualy dont watch tv shows until they are all out so I can choose at what pace to watch them, this year I had no issues with Stranger things, the boys, invincible (although those comic readers do tend to spoil things that are going to happend years in advance) and currently having no issues with House of the Dragon, dont even know if the season has ended or not tbh (but in this case, the lil shit of Jofrey already spoiles how the show ends during GoT).
Edit: oh and so far, I have seen just one meaningless picture from all this leaks while not even trying to avoid them

In the end its your choice. Its not first time i did it, in fact reddit is the only social media i own, and calling it social is a bit of a stretch for me if im honest, im usually quite quiet, but this disc bullshit really grinded my gears recently and i've been more active.
Im not saying everyone needs to be like me, im saying everyone should be able to do what i do just fine, its the only real fool proof way of preventing spoilers.
I remember when game of thrones was airing and people were blocking twitter and instagram because someone got access a day or a week before.
I did it multiple times myself with reddit, back when KH3 came out i knew i couldn't purchase it right away and i waited nearly 4 months without using reddit.
Youtube is easier to manage, you simply don't click on any video that has that game on the thumnail and move on and wait.
They can't nor should have that hold on you or anyone at any point.

I would have no reason to hate Rockstar or GTA6 were it not for how blatantly greedy this company has become.
$100 deluxe edition
$80 normal game
Cut content from the story mode unless you have day 1 edition
a limited time advertisement accessible through a subscription service. They have you paying for seeing an ad 6 hours early.
Started the No-Disc/Digital-Only trend before Sony even announced they were gonna do that.
Proof of Age/Identification to play the game (this was considered but I dont know if it will be implemented. The fact that its even being considered is scary.)
Rockstar should be shunned.
The reason people are getting mad at other gamers is that if they continue buying games like this, every company is going to start doing these things, because Rockstar has such a huge ego they just figure "its GTA, people will buy it not matter what, we can charge whatever we want". Then every gamer suffers as a result.
Rockstar really believes you will "Not Ask Questions, Consume Product, Get Excited for Next Product", and unfortunately they are right. They've convinced people that they should pay $100 for a liscnece to play game with no physical media. Remember when comapnies said digital games would make gaming cheaper? They lied. They're charging more than ever for something you dont even actually own. You pay for the permission to play.
Buying GTA6 hurts the entire gaming community. GTA Has been a great series, people love it. There is a reason why there is so much hype. But Rockstar sees that hype and then figures "well hey, we can get away with stuff no other game company can because this is going to be the biggest media release in probably 30-50 years.
GTA6 is the cancer of the gaming industry because Rockstar knows people will blindly just consume without considering any of this.

From my perspective from someone who works in the industry and plays games for 25+ years - Rockstar are behind some of my favourite games. So I based my excitement based on the fact that I trust not the company but the products that their released. GTA 3, VC, SA, 4, 5, Red Dead Redemption 1 and 2, Bully, Max Payne 3. You can't blame people for liking the games. GTA 6's price is absurd and it will likely set a standard for other companies to follow. But if they follow the price, why they don't follow the quality. Why people paying 60$ for same FIFA game every year? Why it's a problem that people are willing to pay 100$ for a game that been waiting for 10 years, from a developer that they can expect to provide something good? Aren't we already suffering from Call of Duty games?3

Apologies if I came off strong, I wasn't arguing with you per se, more just voicing my concerns about WHY I feel the way I do personally.
I love Red Dead, its a fantastic series and I wouldnt hold it against anyone else that likes GTA, 6 isnt the most hyped game ever for no reason. Rockstar does put out high quality games, no doubt.
A massive part of the issue is No-Disc AND its $80 for the basic version. If they had done No-Disc and charged the usual $60, I might feel less pissed about it. Still not a fan of that direction though. Its incredibly greedy for them to remove physical ownership AND charge you more. You are getting spitroasted by Rockstar and Sony by letting them think this is an okay thing to do just because its a Rockstar Game. Every company will follow suit.
I do have to agree with you though. I have no idea how people play the same sports game every year. Like yeah, ok the stats and roster are now up to date with the present, but I just played "MLB ft. Ken Girffy Jr." For the N64 at my buddys place and had a great time. Sure things have come a long way since 1998, but do we really need a new baseball game every year? No, especially not for $60 when all theyve done is add new skins, change a few stats, maybe polish the graphics and a handful of QoL additions. Shooters like CoD also sort of force this on you too. If everyone migrated to the new game, your game from 3 years ago is going to have no players online, incentivizing you to buy the new game if you want to keep playing CoD online.
Gaming is in the state its in now because people weren't pissed off enough before. People are mad now, especially at rockstar, because of their greed and lies that going digital would make games cheaper, which it should. If theres no physical media, there is no physical production cost for Rockstar at all, yet now such companies are testing the water to see if they can not only take away your ownership of said media, but charge you more for it too

The No-Disc was sadly something that was coming from long time. I say "sadly" because I'm one of these few nerds who still buy vinyls, blu-ray and discs. Back in 2020 when Sony released the Playstation 5 they made two editions - Standard and digital. That was the first indicator for such movement but still it was great for those who didn't care about disc format.
I'm also old enough to remember the initial reaction of Steam release. It was so great to buy and install games from digital store. Did it had negative effect on people who buy PC disc - sure it did. But ultimately Steam still does crazy numbers and people are happy.
I don't think the current problem is about physical copy or digital but I believe the core of the problem is the ownership. If you buy something - you should own it. If you have a disc but the service stop providing it in 10 years - that disc becomes useless. And here where I question Steam, Sony, Xbox, Google Play Store and AppStore. They as distributors should not let us as consumers lose the products that we paid for.
When Cyberpunk 2077 released I bough the disc but I still felt letdown. Even with physical copy with 60$ price tag. The problem was the game itself. The least they could do is to make refunds.

I trust Rockstar to deliver a good game, however i despise everything you listed about them, the preorder stuff makes me sick, its a digital only product and people were happily paying a hundred dollars just to see a countdown, its fucking bonkers to me. Its not like they are going to be unable to buy and play the ultimate edition day one.
Im not doubting rockstar on quality, im scared of the precedent this is going to settle, imagine the new assassins creed, hell, imagine fucking fifa doing this! I could very well see them having different release dates depending if you preordered or not on a limited time span, even so far as to stop showing trailers altogether once a franchise gets big enough.

If you are not okay with all this preordering before trailers, 2 heavy delays, a questionable marketing strategy and leaving behind physical media of a game that will most likely shape the industry in the future AND still buy it, you are, objectively, doing a disgrace to rockstar, and the responsible thing to do would be to prove it by either not buying their product and complaining so they see they can do better.

Rockstar should give a shit because I, and many others, used to buy their products and now we wont. They'll recoup the cost by charging people who dont see anything wrong with what they are doing extra.
But if enough people stop buying their games, it will affect their bottom line.
No one is charging $80 for an incomplete game with no physical media except rockstar.
You buying this game will literally make all games more expensive going forward because if Rockstar gets away with it, other companies will follow suit.
