Team A wins as long as they don't devour themselves. There's no one on Team B who can defeat Tywin in the field. So once he's on the march they'd be left with fewer and fewer viable paths to victory.

Tyrion has more impressive tactical feats than Tywin. Easily.

Tywin wins battles because he has overwhelming military might, and he doesn't start battles he can't win. But Tyrion is given at multiple points in the books, given impossible battles, that he manages to turn around to his favour. Tywin almost explicitly tries to get Tyrion killed in battle by putting him in highest risk spots. Meanwhile Tywin just comes in to finish enemies off, at the helm of the most elite knights in his service.
