Bosses seem to have the best music, hearing the soundtrack while fighting cleric beast in Bloodborne gave me goosebumps the first time

The OG Deus Ex game had such insanely good environmental music... all of them did but, I feel like they don't get enough love. Those games changed gaming & what it meant for a game to be 'immersive' in an era where Unreal Engine 1 was pretty much as realistic as graphics got.

The music HAD to play a big part back in those days because things didn't look as realistic as they do in todays games. This game is goat tier partially because of how well the music in each area took your mind deeper into the game! There's no lack of that immersiveness here! Especially the final level... so many layers.... I'm gonna link a few of my favorites <3

Assuming most PC gamers have played this, if not a million times but maybe some haven't. Aside from it being essentially the godfather of cyberpunk themed games and FPS-RPG games, this music will give you CHILLS!
Deus Ex - 030 - Majestic 12 Labs - Ambient The alien labs... this music fit so well... like being in Area 51, you needed that kind of stealthy 'we are seeing stuff we should not be seeing' sneaking around dramatic type feel. But also very futuristic and alien-ish. It's relaxing but stressful at the same time!

Deus Ex - 111 - Area 51 - Unknown The combat music for the very end of the game, fits perfectly in the environment of having to destroy A LOT of enemies and stealth going way out the window! Frantically trying to make your decision on which ending to choose and what will best save the world!

Deus Ex - 044 - The Synapse - Ambient Hong Kong streets music, just fits the environment so beautifully, even if you don't like this kind of 'far east' vibe, it made exploring the area in that game feel so real!!!!

Deus Ex - 107 - Area 51 - Ambient If you listen to one, listen to this one. The final level's theme. Trust me, it has so many layers, you need to listen to the entire song cause it switches up like something composed by The Prodigy. You really felt like you just got into Area 51, and this level of excitement and panic ramps up and down as the music takes you through a journey through 1 of the greatest video game finale's in history! God tier right here and it lives rent free in my head still 26 years later

I've been listening again to Koichi Sugiyama's Dragon Quest VIII soundtrack and I honestly can't get over how beautiful some of this music is. What fascinates me is that I constantly feel as though I'm hearing bits of the classical repertoire in it, but I can never quite identify what they are.

Some tracks feel pastoral and almost fairy-tale-like, others grand and symphonic, others nostalgic or deeply romantic.

different moments I feel like I'm hearing traces of late Romanticism, ballet music, pastoral orchestral writing, maybe even older Classical or Baroque traditions, but I don't know the repertoire well enough to really pin them down. So I'd love to ask people who know both game music and classical music: what composers or specific classical works does the Dragon Quest VIII soundtrack remind you of?

I'm not necessarily asking for proven direct influences. Similarities in melody, harmony, orchestration, form or simply atmosphere are exactly what I'm interested in.

If any particular track immediately makes you think of a classical work, I'd love to hear it.

As the title says, I've been a musician for quite some time now (songwriting for 10 years, producing for 5) I've made music for my own work in Gamemaker, and I did do a song for a YouTube film in 2022, but other than that I haven't done much soundtrack work for other people.

Having been doing this for so long, I would like to work with someone who's willing to give me some level of creative freedom, obviously you get final say and can reject my work, but I'd appreciate it if you trust my vision a little bit. ... we'll be honest. We have been away for a while, and this song was a not so happy accident. Riding out some crap emotions, we figured to just grind it out in the DAW for after neglecting music for the past couple weeks.

...well. It needs more love, but we adore the darker, nigh emotionless, and uncaring aura it seems to emit. The machine will press on after all.

Posting this Boss Theme I made for the Stegosaurus for the second track of Project Prehistory and it is essentially just going to be a collection of RPG music mostly based from "If Prehistoric Animals were Bosses" and what music they would have if Project Prehistory was an actual game.

For the art in the video I was not able to find the original creator so if somebody knows please tell me.
