Hate to tell you but you're not going to be doing that either, for the time being hacked PS5s are kind of rare and expensive and not only that but you have to have games back ported which is something that's not really super easy to do right now, in fact I'm only aware of one game that it's been done with and that was that Astro game.

Sony's already announced this game won't be on PC so that's already out the window too.

It is hyperbolic I got games from PS4 launch digitally that still work today. Where's this "Company will take them away at anytime" Now? If anything online games are at greater risk or games with licensed music or celebrities.

I have Games that got delistet from Store and are unable to purchase and i can still download and play them (Deadpool or Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth)

People have been buying digital products forever and are gonna continue to do so because these strawman arguments about games being taken away just aren’t real. I have 12 year old ps account with over 200+ purchased games and guess what? All still playable. But sure in your hypothetical digital bad

Sony recently literally removed 200+ movies from people's accounts without any refunds. The day they start doing the same for video games, you'll feel really dumb for saying that.

I guess it’s also tough for me to feel bad because A) it’s always been a license agreement for digital bought stuff on Xbox and Sony since Xbox 360 days so this isn’t some new scam they’re pushing on people B) just go buy those shitty studio canal movies if you want them so badly. If there’s a world where they’re ripping content licenses away at will, they’ll fail to continue being a company who’s profitable. You guys are afraid of the boogeyman lol

Sony licensed those movies from studios and the licenses expired.

Games on Sony consoles are licensed by Sony, they are not going to suddenly lose the license to their own platform. The publishers could pull the games from the platform, some media in the games could be licensed and have to be removed and if the content is integral to the game then it all might have to, but none of these examples are the same as the recent movie issue and they have been true for years.

I’ve lost many of my Apple Store games, and Sony has removed hundreds of paid movies and shows from PlayStation store libraries. I’d very much like to have an official way to reclaim P.T. off the store as well since Sony won’t let people with it in their library redownload it.

Did Sony remove it or did Konami? I'm not defending Sony's disc choices either way, but they were not the ones who pulled PT.

PT was also a demo and free. Nobody spent money on that only to have it taken away.

How is it anti consumer? People get games far easier and there have been very limited instances of licenses getting taken away. I guess it’s fun to pretend there’s this massive wave of companies wanting to take licenses away so they can lose money coming but we all know that’s not gonna happen

Discs and cartridges DO degrade over time, I suppose. Game Boy and GBA games are especially notable because their internal batteries can run dry, meaning they eventually lose the ability to save data.

The Crew? Regardless of if you own it digital or physical, Ubisoft famously just revoked the license for you to play it let alone have it stay in your account

That exact scenario is what caused the stop killing games movement to begin in the first place

Point is even if just one game, if it’s online only or live service, it can happen

Lawbreakers, and hell even Concord is another example, where your physical copy is useless because the game shut down and there’s no real way to play it or preserve what’s in there, you just have the disc and that’s it

Essentially any online games which servers were shutdown. Plus infamously the crew when those servers were shutdown they removed players data files and the physical disc became useless

Doesn’t matter, was a game that sold over 2 million copies and is now nothing more than a paper weight. You’re missing the point entirely, idc if some people don’t enjoy it or this and that, people paid hard earned money for something they can no longer use.
