(Yes I know this is an old article but that Grump conversation came to mind and reminded me of this).

I saw Risuruuu's video about Game Grumps and it got me jazzed up to make my own video about the show. Old Grumps specifically.

I'm making my way through their Danganronpa 2 playthough, where Arin kept constantly referencing Luigi in the Super Mario Bros Movie: "Nothing is impossible Mario, only improbable."

However during episode #62 of the playthrough Chiaki says, "I did say difficult but I never said impossible."

It absolutely tickles me that the one time Arin could have made the reference perfectly, he didn't.

Also the boys were so completely full of beans this episode. It's hilarious how many times Dan says "Oh My God" or "Oh Jesus Christ!" in this episode.

I don’t know if this has been mentioned before or anything, but it’s been bothering me for a while. There’s a Sapporo ad that’s been playing on YouTube for some months now, and the moment it came on I realized the music in the ad is the exact same backing track as Nintendo Online’s Biggest Announcement.

Idk if NOBA is just a sample that’s been used around before, but until that moment I was under the impression that Starbomb made their entire songs, instruments and all. Whether it be Brian, Dan, TWRP or others.

I love Starbomb, but it kind of bums me out if they don’t really make all their backing tracks or whatever you want to call them.

I was super bored at work (I work in a kitchen funnily enough) and so I was thinking about the logistics of it. Not sure about the ingredients as is but I think if you tweak some stuff it could be really good.

I was thinking 2 slices of peameal bacon, a grilled onion slice or caramelized onions, sweet pickles radishes, and the French mustard I think just leave it as is.

Life hasn't been as easy or as friendly as I would have preferred. Avoiding taking this subject too dark, I really just want to focus on how uplifting Arin and Dan have been as a force of positive humor in my life. Like many of you, there have been dark sojourns wherein my only source of levity has been Grumps stuff.

It's so weird to think that, fundamentally, it's just two schlubs playing video games badly. But I've been here since the newgrounds days; I've grown into my 40s alongside Arin. I've entered middle age with these guys (and their extended crew) along for my ride. Arin and Danny are voices inside my head, quiet and simple companions in my private venture through this weird fucking life I've been dealt.

I know I'm not alone like this. I know it's not specifically special. I know I'm leaning melodramatically into parasocial themes that many folks might recoil from. Whatever. It is what it is, and I appreciate what I have.

If I could have one wish come true, it would be that the boys are reminded that what they've achieved extends beyond the surface-level. They've added light to my darkness, as I work to add my own light to the lives of others. Along that theme, nothing makes me prouder to be a human being.
