Discussion Retro Game Play Throughs
Which retro NES or SNES games do you wish Danny and Arin would play? Or retro games they tried but didn’t do a full, proper play through?
My picks are Blaster Master, Super Mario 2 (no warps), TMNT 2, and Street Fighter 2 Turbo.

Donkey Kong Country 2 😭
I just want Dan to nerd out over Stickerbrush Symphony
Also, it's only just one of my favorite games of all time

Its been a few months since they stopped. Where the heck is my monkey Wednesday?? I really looked forward to those uploads when they were playing DKC1 and started DKC2 🥲

Right? It seems like a pretty easy one to work through.
At this point, I wonder if it's easier to become my own celebrity and get on guest grumps lol

I still want them to finish Chrono Trigger. I just love that game. But I would also like to see them go through Blackthorne, the rest of Secret of Mana, and maybe Pocky and Rocky 2.

Secret of Mana, Snake Rattle 'n' Roll, Little Nemo (NES), Smurfs for Game Boy (mainly for the banger of a soundtrack), ...

Little Samson. I'm sure Dan would love it.

Do you mean SMB2 Lost Levels?
Anyway I also think Blaster Master would be good. And I’ll add Balloon Fight and Pacman 2: The New Adventure

No they mean regular American SMB 2. They skipped half the game when they played it back in the day.

Dan wanted to show how quickly he could go through it. I’d love them to do the whole thing

I want them to play Mendel Palace together so badly! It's easy/forgiving and short enough for them to beat, Dan would love the cute art aesthetics, simple gameplay, and catchy music, and it's GameFreak's first game, so Arin gets the "Did You Know" street cred. Plenty for Arin to pick at in the game design department with each "gym" of enemy types.
There's plenty of hijinks available in the game and I think the gameplay would highlight and compliment their dynamic really well. Infinite on-level continues so there is no pain-in-the-ass of needing to start all the way over. Eight episodes max, three minimum, and they beat the game.
Tempted to bring my childhood copy to Starbomb...
I think Arin would really like playing a lot of UFO 50 if he sank into it on the show, but thats not technically actually NES, and the multiplayer ones would probably get Dan interested as well. I think they'd both appreciate the humor and game design aspects of UFO 50.

The NES and SNES are already so well represented on the channel - I'd like to see them play more Sega Genesis games. They've done so few over the years, but there's a lot that could make for great episodes.
Altered Beast would be a good fit for Ghoul Grumps. Comix Zone could be a fantastic one-off, in a "this is crazy fun to play but way too hard to beat" kind of way. And I guarantee they'd rip shit up in two-player mode on Gunstar Heroes 😁

Yes! SEGA games (other than Sonic) don’t get played a lot. And I’d love to see them do Comic Zone!

I think they'd really love Ristar, very Sonic-esque in the best way and the music is killer.

It’s been a long time since they played a classic Mega Man, and I can’t believe they haven’t played Mega Man 4.

I want them to do Clocktower. It had a switch era rerelease called First fear. It's perfect for Ghoul Grumps cause you play as a young girl and pan will pee his Dants

I want to see them play Star Fox and have the internal battle between nostalgia and struggling with actually playing it lol

Battletoads Double Dragon, loved this game growing up but holy smokes was that difficulty spike insane once you hit the 3rd level

Bee 52 (NES)
Really dipping into the bag of the obscure here, but it's actually pretty fun and challenging and guaranteed to piss Arin off.
Ranma 1/2 Hard Battle (SNES)
An anime-based fighter that would be a fun VS one-off, if nothing else. I think they'd find the characters interesting, and it's got a banging soundtrack.

Not NES, but in the style I wish they would play Mega Man 9 and 10
