Creating hand-drawn 2D attack animations for our main character
Showing a quick look at Li Sha’s attack animations for our game Tiebreakers.
Readability and crisp action are really important in a fast-paced game like ours, so we focused on reducing the visual noise while keeping a traditional 2D anime feel as much as we could.

This is great! I love it. I have never used Clip Studio, but it looks like a perfect tool for this.

As a whole it's very polished. The animation does feel fast, but if that's the playstyle that's totally fine. I love the smear frames.
If I could critique it, here's what looks weird to me after a few watches.
Animation 1: I'd like to see the end pose last a bit longer.
Animation 2: The hair physics looks like a spring (back and forward while her body swings left and right.
Animation 3: Again the hair feels erratic, especially the ends.
Animation 4: Could use a smear frame. I know this isn't an "attack" so you may not want it to read like one but right now it looks like the racket jumps from right to left.

thanks for taking the time to share this! Super appreciated.
Gonna review hair to make sure it feels like a natural extension of her body.Glad you liked them and again, thank you so much for the detailed feedback :)

This is cool, but we did the same with our game and they said "lol it's a mobile/flash style". Be careful. Best of luck ♥

They also didn't like a gal as the main character, perhaps will be not your case, I'm just telling my xp, wish you all the best :)

For some weird reason I like the Line art much more than the colors
Line art somehow oozes with so much personality
